The Recording studio can be a high-stress area whether you are a producer, a musician, a session player, or an engineer. SO LET'S ADD MORE STRESS! I have 5 session players here to try an experiment with. Can we write and arrange and record a full song (sans the lyrics.. cause hey we are instrumentalists after all) in only 15 minutes? Is that enough time to get a workable song finished? LET'S FIND OUT!

But then in this video that they were trying to make with the session musicians were writing a song, not a jam session. The guys had to figure out the charting like the video seen here to quickly make a song.

Hey, God created us. We are fallen as humans. We sin and are at odds with God. We need to be reconciled to God. God sent His only Begotten Son Jesus to atone for our sins. He lived a sinless life, shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins and died. He then physically rose from grave. But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”-that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. - Romans 10:8-10 We love because He first loved us. We should walk as He walked. If we sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, if we confess them and forgive others. It's not about the building we go to, even though we should fellowship. God wants our hearts and us to know Him through knowing His Son Jesus Christ.

Peak Session Geek right there!! Thats what happens when ya learn your theory/nashville numbers boys and girls! The beauty of the Numbers system is you don't have to be able to read music. Just have an understanding of basic harmony. This system allows musicians without a lot of theory behind them, to be in the conversation. The more experience, the more you can hear it in your head before you even play it. Great work gents.

It's amazing how you guys can build a song without playing a note. Most people I work with are utterly clueless... About music in general, about their instrument, about lyrics, about songwriting... could go on. It's so nice to see sanity in a music studio, instead of a "Man-splaining Club" meeting.

I must admit I was a bit annoyed at first with what to me was an over intellectualized approach of working out chords before even touching an instrument. Then, I was absolutely blown away when you went in to lay it down!! You guys are such talented musicians and tight af as a band, hats off gents! Just goes to show there is no "right way"... And the sound engineering is just flawless, congrats!
@RecordingStudioLoser
@RecordingStudioLoser 2 года назад
That's interesting to me. I've heard that before. That talking numbers is to "out there" or over intellectualized as you put it. To me numbers is just a quick way to speak ..."music" I suppose... just instead of someone playing a guitar and the other instrumentalists needing to translate it and figure it out for them it's like we are all speaking a language that all of us can understand regardless of our instrument.

Nice! I have done this before but for an entire album recording, twice. The artist sold limited tickets to die hard fans to come into the studio and watch the recording happen live. The fan ticket sales paid for the recording and musicians. There were seats in the control room and in Studio A. The band all setup in Studio A and recorded the album old school style. We ran one take and went back at the end to run a second take on one or two tunes that went off rails. Whole process was about an hour and a half for 10 songs. Maybe your next project?

Yess. this video gave me chills. Having worked as a session drummer for many years, I resonate with the philosophy that pro musicians do not necessarily need to rely on their instruments to develop emotional movement. They are able to form the complete shape of the ideas in their head, articulate them, and deliver as accurately as they envisioned them. Now while i do appreciate any other methods of music composition this video has shown that these musicians do not need their instruments to create music. Instead, the instrument becomes a tool they use to tell their stories. They have developed the technical abilities to know exactly what it takes to deliver any emotion as soon as they lay their hands on the instrument. They're in full control.
