@@sundaynwa-echemmachinedu7152 is either the nipple is blocked entirely or the sitting of the burner is short that it doesn't press the ball on the valve which supplies the gas
If it is water, water alone cannot block the nipple on the control but if it does the same procedure applies. Water can only wet the burner cap, just get the cap dried it will start working again. Thanks

Please I have a new 6kg gas cylinder but the burner does not ignite, I tried the burner with another cylinder and it works well. What could be the problem?
Please read my main comments and follow my procedure. Thank you. You can use steel wool or scotch bright to mildly take off the dirt with a liquidity soap degreaser. If it is rusty but still firm , you can use some finer sand paper and take the rust off. Then paint it with a can of heat resistant silver or chrome spray. You can plug the holes with toothpicks to avoid blockage by the spray paint before you spray it. Let it dry properly before use. Don't do this if the burner cap is rusty and falling apart , you rather buy a new one. You can also sandpaper a rusty gas cylinder and spray it with grey or red primer , then spray it with the original or your choice of colour. " If the metal is too thin on the cylinder at any spot (deep corrosion by rust) , don't execute this method, it's safer to buy a new cylinder. 👍👍👍👍
