Datto, you never made me directly delete a weapon in my vault (sunset or not) but I watched your vault cleaning videos regularly and applied the principles you taught in those to my vault. Now, after Bungie announced sunsetting the sunsetting I only have this to say to you: Thank you. Hey Datto, I just wanna say thank you. Your thinking of how to getting the right mindset to keep some space in the vault, helped me a lot. I've keep some sunset weapons, but I'm sure even after this sunset of the sunset, I will just keep them for sentimental reasons. Maybe I will grab from time to time my Martyr's Retribution or Kindled Orchid just for fun more often, but I don't care about the other rolls I've delete so far. Space in vault give me peace of mind. Again thanks! And don't stop cleaning vaults, if you like it. I started being more aggressive about my vault cleaning because of your videos and honestly no regrets. There's a few weapons I probably would have wanted to keep for funsies, like the Scourge weapons and some things with neat scopes, but it's not a big loss. Any trophy weapons are still there and there's plenty of space for the reprisals when they come out, which will no doubt be leagues better anyway.

Just because they're going to be unsunset doesn't change the fact that 95% of sunset weapons would be mid at best in the current game. Origin traits, new perks, and the available perk combos make most guns nutty now compared to what was available before. I think maybe only 1/6 of the weapons in my vault are from beyond light or earlier now, there's few weapon types that haven't had a new version re-released or a new weapon that's power crept the older one.

this is why vault cleaning is so so hard for me. you simply never know what bungie will do. noone would have ever expected this. i still have a blast furnace, bygones, anonymous autumn and some other sunset stuff that will be useful or nostalgic, and i'm glad i didnt delete them!

@@poplthemaidensrevengetmr3573 the one thing you can count on with Bungie is them EVENTUALLY backtracking on their obviously-terrible-from-the-outset decisions when the game is inevitably dying as a result. Having said that, I did eventually give up hope, myself, and deleted all my sunset gear. Huge rip.

2 key factors: 1. Most sunset stuff has been easily replaced or powercrept, so outside of sentimental stuff its no big deal. 2. If my friend is anything to go by, we got his vault from 600 down to 200 without seeing a single piece of sunset gear. This is likely the case for most players with cluttered vaults.

Vault cleaning is still one of the better things I did in D2. When I came back to the game in Beyond Light after an extended break, I deleted anything that wasn't exotic or that I didn't remember. It allowed me to not worry about a baseline comparison and just learn on my own why perks were good and what I was looking for in weapon stats. Since then your vault cleaning "stuff" has kept me inspired to keep a clean vault and to know every weapon to at least some degree.
