Sorry for your loss mate. I am in Germany and you can still consider yourself lucky, where we would have to destroy all beehives in the apiary and there would be a quarantine area where all others apiarys would mandatory be tested.

Yeah I totally understand the needing the footage to know what you’ve done! Needed it many a time even if I’m just logging info or trying to remember so I’m prepared going back into a hive. I’m glad I record everything when I’m in the apiary!

It's always a bad deal when it turns up, in many countries in Europe you call the department of agriculture, and they'll send an inspector out and they'll check all the hives in the apiary. And there's a set way to Go through the whole system.

We just use about three tablespoons of powdered sugar and antibiotic powder tetracycline or Tylosin per colony across brood frames once a week for a drone brood cycle 24 days total. Been working fantastic and permanently just like other animals. No need to go primitive.

Ya life really sucks. There are a lot of things we do not like doing in agriculture but we all know it is better to do what is right. I made a rule years ago to never purchase anyone’s used Bee equipment because I never know what they just may have had in there colonies. Not saying someone would do that I just will now take a chance because I do not want it an I have way to much money tied up in what I have an if I have to burn a complete yard I want it to be my problem. It has been a lot of years here in the USA that I have heard of anybody having it . ( knock on wood ) . My heart go out for you an your bees . Thanks for showing this video. Hope to see a lot more of your videos but not this kind . lol . THANKS

In the US instead of euthanizing they are trying some towels dipped in a mixture of tea tree oil, eucy oil and I think peppermint, with good results, go have a look at some old posts from Bob Binny, it sounded really interesting, they seem to be having good success rates.

@@vernakruckow6968Yes I had forgotten the exact ingredients, but it was the use of either or both that I was hinting at, My bees do tea tree early in the season so I shouldn't have any issues although I have one hive, that has gone weak that I am about to check today.

We use Tetracycline or Tylosin antibiotic mixed with powdered sugar once a week for 24 days to cover drone brood cycle. Always works just like with other animals and humans. You'll never get rid of all biological contamination because it's in old hollow tree hives, water holes, and drones are going to spread it during swarm season. Burning a hive is stupid and primitive. Antibiotics work to improve the immune system basically bleaching the brood white again. Yes herbal essential oil is an Antibiotic and so is a strong nectar flow. Even the UV rays of the sun. That video is a re-upload from a few years ago. I wonder why he isn't telling us it's not recent

Here in America, when in doubt, torch it out. No permits required. At least where I live. Hope yours doesn't spread, buddy.
