Great review, loved the detail you went into. That woox stock looked real nice on that action. Great job

interesting video. Will you do a comparison between your weatherby 2.0 and Waypoint 2020. I saw in your video the weatherby has a BSF barrel-same company as the Springfield waypoint. Noting your comments on weight/accuracy/shooting the weatherby. My waypoint in 308 I would say similar(picky) i pulled the factory break off and put on a VG6 Gamma and then tried defiant Munitions 168gr TCX and got down to .52 MOA groups. Love the rifle and think the weight will be great for hunting, but one of the most "difficult" rifles to get to where you want to be vs. others.

Everyday Weatherby is better. Better action. Better design. Higher quality. The biggest problem with actions like the Bergara is recessing an extractor into the bolt lug which leads to its eventual breakage due to bolt thrust. This is why the post 64 70 was rejected by the US Military. This is seen often on Savage actions. It's generally experienced on all actions stupidly designed like this from Brownings to Mossberg. A Weatherby Vanguard (Howa 1500) is a great action, much better than a Bergara. And a Bergara is not in the same league as a Weatherby Mark V, even the new uglified ones with dirt trap bolts. If you want to talk about barrels, Remington 770s had decent barrels, but that didn't make them good rifles. No (unreliable) extraction = inferior design, garbage.

Which one has a “heavy” barrel and holds better groups after sustained fire? Weatherby bergara tikka ruger?
@rmichaelzachary8574
@rmichaelzachary8574 6 месяцев назад
@@gearjammer0445 Weatherbys generally do MOA or less, but if you can't extract the case on a crap rifle like a Bergara, Ruger American, the barrel doesn't matter. And Tikka is the economy line of Sako, Tikka running with PRICEY PROPRIETARY MAGAZINES. Lose one then hope to find another for $200. Apples to apples, Weatherby Mark V compares to SAKO. Weatherby Mark V can handle 200000 PSI of pressure. SAKO not so much. But SAKO and Tikka aren't part of this discussion. Ruger American is junk. And Bergara is a trash take on the Remington 700. Better off with a Remington 700, which is war ready, tested and MOA accurate. Remington 770s had decent barrels and were garbage rifles: Bergara follows suit.

@@edl7454 Bergara's not a glorified 700. It's extractor is in a stupid place. It's inferior. The 700 is a quality action, but it's not a Weatherby, no.

@LifeisGood-ye8rl that's not weatherby s wheelhouse though. The rifle you described is a target rifle. Weatherby builds hunting rigs. With weight savings being top of the list of features.

I have owned 5 Weatherby Mark 5 rifles and each one was total junk and don't shoot accurately so big No for Weatherby. The Bergar is a big No being foreign made and gun makers not in the US all have a Big screw you when the gun comes up with problems. I have a Highly valued Mauser 98M I need parts to make the gun work then Mauser in Germany refused to sell the parts to me because as I was told I am an American !

@@rockylavigna5977 Lets she how old you are by posting a video with those imaginary 20 Weatherby's. Just like everyone will say in comments thy are a Marine sniper or a Navy seal or Fly to this day F 14 tom cats for the Marines or double as a Marine and a special forced Russian soldier bodyguard to Putin. That is like on AR video comments where a teenager claims to own 25 AR 15s.

Wrooong unless you pay $6k for the TRG action, cheap Sako on the $1600 range, the action is same if not weaker than tikka, has zero after market support. The barrel is ok, You’re paying that for the name. If those sako s20 is in the $1200 now we’re talking. But still you have to be ok with shooting those as is or limited upgrade from Sako themselves

🤯 $6 K? I bought a TRG-S (for alot less than that) in the LAZZERONI WARBIRD and 338 LAPUA, Along With a 270 Winchester chambered in the Sako 75's and 85 Models! They ALL Shoot Amazingly Well! 🎯 The S-20 Stock is to "Plasticky" for me, though I am sure it shoots well! I just don't want to be carrying a 26" barrel into the woods anymore! That is Why I have chosen to sell off ALL My Magnums Now! If I did buy a Magnum now, it would be in the "More Practical" 7mm prc! 🤑
@ronlowney4700
@ronlowney4700 10 месяцев назад
Back when I bought the TRG-S's, I think I paid about $1200 for the 308 Lazzeroni Warbird and $600 for the used 338 Lapua Magnum! When I bought the used Sako 75 in the 270 Winchester, Which had only 1 box of shells through it, I only paid $400 for it (What a Steal)! And, I paid $2300 for the Sako 85 in the Finlight II!
