@joshfoster0741 I agree that great whites shouldn't be kept in captivity for a long period of time. I do however appreciate what the Monterrey Bay is doing by allowing us a chance to see this majestic animal. Most of the great whites in their exhibit were not purposely caught by them but rather accidentally caught by commercial fishermen. The great whites has become ambassadors of their species to be studied, appreciated, and understood. Great things will come such as the ban on shark fin.

it 'll help decriminalize the shark and help it be seen as a fish with teeth but not as an object to be feared , which can increase behaviors that may cause shark to take more bites out of humans, but with the animal being released it should help change the behaviors of these fish keeping curiosity of humans off there need to take bites.

Funny I saw this documentary from KQED/PBS and aquarium staff had to remove the great white because of the fact it attacked a hammerhead and the divers who dive to clean the glass could feel the great white preying on them. Yet in this clip the staff doesn't talk about that event and experience.
