Although a bit long in the tooth, this documentary could teach modern presenters a salutary lesson in the art of informative narration that is free of "drama" and "Look at meee!" bullshit.
What? Look at me b.s.?? Name one documentary presenter where that is a problem you weirdo..you just like to gripe about stuff bc you're a miserable person and nothing more.
Wow, it's not just interesting but also very educational too, and one gets to enjoy the beauty of so many species of monkeys, birds and animals too, thank you.
@33:13 Am I crazy? Doesn't that Toucan sound like he's imitating a puppy or dog barking? That was insane! He did it so spot on too! Man, Toucan's are so freakin' awesome! They're incredibly intelligent & master imitators! They're super beautiful up close. They can even master commands & play games like fetch! Ctfu I feel obligated to add that.. Yes, you can legally buy yourself a pet Toucan in most US states. It requires hopping through a few legal hoops though. The laws are varied by state, you generally need an "exotic pet" permit & such when you buy or adopt one. It can end up become quite a huge pain in the butt, & guess what? That's going to be the easiest part of owning a Toucan! Ctfu! The husbandry alone, what's required to maintain the housing & keep your Toucan happy are enormous! That's not even including the financial aspect of owning one. The dietary needs are a small fortune in itself! They need tons of handling, interaction, & personal care. There veterinary needs aren't simple either. Some vets don't treat exotics. Then there's other financial factors that can just pop up when owning an exotic pet. The upkeep when owning a Toucan is very expensive. Everything about only a Toucan is money, money, money! That's basically the case with any exotic animal! My friend that owns several kinds of Toucan had a saying, "All large birds have large bills! So unless you have tons of money to keep throwing at your exotic bird, don't get one!" Owning an exotic pet, like a Toucan, always involves never-ending training & one on one care! It's as much work as a baby & they live extremely long lives as far as pets are concerned. I'm just saying, 10/10 would not recommend. It's truly not a good beginner pet, or for the faint of heart (or wallet for that matter)!! Ctfu! My gripe about people that own large exotic birds are the ones that impulse buy them & don't provide proper husbandry, nor do they give them much personal care! The poor birds become aggressive because they're terrified! Get yourself a parakeet instead. They're cute!
I observed that Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) has natural seed dispersal mechanism. It fruits when mature and dry will explode exposing the winged flat seeds ready to be blown by wind sending the seeds far and wide.
I will quote something. And the seeds will remain Underground buried away from the jaws of predators LOL fucking really? What predators prey on seeds LOL
Several times they have not told us what the name of the plants or the fruits are it was very frustrating at @20:40 I was very curious about the spiky fruit coz I seen it someplace before but I don't know where and now I don't know the name of it. or in the tree that made the monkeys drunk don't know what that fruit is . There are couple others I don't understand why they didn't give us more information
@@karinam.2403 Thank you so much You are referring to that spiky fruit that has the weird latex stuff that leaks from it right? I think I saw those in a Fiesta grocery store down here in Houston and was wondering if it's the same thing and are they worth buying do they taste good at cetera etc.
It would have been a great documentary, but the narrator talks way to much about dung and seads. You start not to care about the documentary. Had to move on. He needed to.
Steve Hamil stupidest comment I've seen about documentaries--"the narrator talks way too much about...." something is wrong with this home-schooled something who thinks everything should conform to the way he sees something.
It's awesome to see how plants get spread and recycled by different animals and water to grow in different locations. I just love these kind of documentaries.
???? You mean ' Seeds that 'Got' spread around . . . . Duh ! The fucking rain forest has been cut down already Dude for Palm oil and cattle grazing !!!!!
When I see all our cousins monkeys I can't help wondering about the so called "tree of life" and the garden of Eden with this tree whose fruits were forbidden to us.
How though? Seriously we need to show the people in countries with rain forests, to make a ton of it protected land and bring in tourists to see tours of it, that would mean instead of exploiting it and cutting it down and killing it, bring in tourists to pay to see it and camp n take tours now that will last forever, the money will always come in rather then a one time lumber deal, or palm oil or something like that where these jungles are destroyed. Look at Madagascar or Phillipines, there is almost nothing left of intact rain forrest its so sad.
My mom grew up with spider monkeys being part of her family.... they had a couple spider monkeys out in the country...I don't know if they were allowed... but anyways they had 2 and my mom said that if you didn't give the spider monkeys what they wanted, even if it was your own plate of food they would deliberately poop in their hand and throw it directly at your head
If those pods have killed people then probably coconuts have too? Hmmm? Google time. Lol Now I know brazil nuts are actually seeds if Im understanding right.. Just a few months ago learned about cashew nut not what I imagined either, I Love documentaries!♥️
