I came up with this modification to eliminate the guess work of IDF carbs.
I call it the Tavern"s retrofit
this modification allows 2.5mm of travel at the needle seat of the float without taking the carburetor apart.
fuel level is checked by removing an emulsion tube stack and set the level 2mm below the exit of the emulsion tube.
this eliminates issues with various fuel pressures and inconsistent float weights, you now can adjust the fuel level with fuel pressure applied.
tools required to completely make this modification yourself:
1: mini lathe
2: drill press
3: m7x1,0mm tape and die set
4: 6 & 8 & 9mm drill bits
parts per carburetor
A: Holley needle and seat PN# cud152
B: one 5mm ID X 9mm OD O-ring
C: one m7x1.0 nut ( I recommend brass)
