Hope it goes well Thomas! It's a pretty easy process, as it's literally just that single screw. Yeah, people really do miss out. It's a sea of Genesis and Spirits here in the city, and quite frankly I don't really understand why other than the American mindset of "bigger is better."

I just picked up a Q 200 @ a flee market for $10. Its missing the fuel knob. And burners were plugged 1/3 of them. The replacement knob cost more then the whole unit did. I've cleaned the burner holes and it works perfect I also have a. Q-1200 which ia alot smaller then this unit. I've had it for 6 years works like new. The Q-200 will be good for larger cook outs, or family picnics in the park. Couldn't let it go by...😊.

Great job! No surprise the Q is so popular. I plan on calling Weber in November or so and ordering a new burner tube. As you know my burner tube is over six years old. No complaints and Weber has GREAT customer service. Also, I dismantle my Q semiannually and take it to the coin operated car wash and pressure wash it like crazy. Works every time and no chemicals. Keep up your great work!!

Glad it helped Joey. Unfortunately the burner tube holes getting blocked is a pretty common problem. Usually a quick scrape will do the job but I find after a full season of heavy use I do tend to need to give it a good and full once over.
3 года назад
Thank you for posting. My Weber flares up making a lot of air rushing noises. The flame sits high above the burner tube is difficult to keep stable. It’s seems to get either too much gas or too much air(?). The regulator dial only has a small effect. I have to control the flame with the gas bottle valve, turning it really down low to get a reasonably stable medium flame. I’ve cleaned the burner tube but this seems to be a problem with the regulator maybe. Anyone else seen this situation? Any ideas how to fix are very welcome 🙏

Today I installed a new igniter on my Q1200 - it was pretty simple once I figured out how to "snap" the igniter box into the ignition hole. Unfortunately, I could only get the dang thing to heat up to 400 degrees - and that took 20 minutes. I'm gonna try your maintenance tips tomorrow - I haven't used the grill in about two years so maybe it's dirty - or maybe the spiders have made a nest in the tubes (I read that happens). Anyway, good video.
@ChicagoGriller
@ChicagoGriller 3 года назад
Yeah sounds like there’s probably some obstruction. If your flames are not blue or uneven then yeah 400 is probably as hot as you can get it. Both my Q2000 and Q1200 can get up to about 475.

@ChicagoGriller
@ChicagoGriller 2 года назад
Hi Karen! Thanks for watching! To be honest, it's probably not any different from kitchen de-greaser. It's all marketing... your ordinary cleaner that has some acidity and a heavier detergent in it should do a good job.

Hi Phil, you have a very sharp eye! My Q2000 does still have the click igniter, but the footage I used for "firing up the grill" was just old footage I took when I compared the Q to my neighbor's Q1200 (must have been what I had handy the day I edited the video). Thanks for watching.

@ChicagoGriller
@ChicagoGriller 3 года назад
Yes it's fine to wash your burner tube, stainless steel is pretty resistant to rust. Think of it this way - your utensils at home are made of the same material, and they don't rust after washing either... provided they are dried, and not left or stored in the elements!

I have one of these grills that has a low flame issue. The only thing I haven’t done is rinse out the burner. These Q grills are temperamental at times.
@ChicagoGriller
@ChicagoGriller 3 года назад
Hey Brad, you're right they can be a bit temperamental. When cleaned and maintained, they are great. But the exposed and unprotected burner is a weak point. Those ports get clogged easily and often. I bought a brand new burner at the start of 2020 and probably within a couple months I started getting uneven flames that I would have to periodically scrape or poke out. That said, they are definitely good cookers, and relatively easy to care for, which is why it's all I have!
