RECLAIM Network Plus Webinar #21
The twenty-first webinar of the 'Reclaiming Forgotten Cities - Turning Cities from Vulnerable Spaces to Healthy Places for People' took place on Wednesday, 7th February 2024. The webinar was chaired by RECLAIM co-investigator, Professor Prashant Kumar from the University of Surrey. This webinar included two speakers: Thuy Nguyen, PhD candidate at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London and McKenna Davis, Senior Fellow, Coordinator Nature-based Solutions at the Ecologic Institute, Berlin, Germany. Thuy Nguyen delivered a talk on "Unveiling Voices: An Exploration of Public Insights in Consultation and Co-Design Approach" and McKenna Davis on "The Urban Governance Atlas: Enhancing local action on nature-based solutions".
After the talk a Q&A session was chaired by Professor Laurence Jones.
Short bio of speakers:
Ngoc Thuy Nguyen is a PhD student at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London. Her current research focuses on strategies to improve the current planning and management of green spaces to ensure they are inclusive and considerate of different communities’ needs. She is interested in exploring the potential of a co-design approach in designing solutions that can foster environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
McKenna works as a Senior Fellow at Ecologic Institute in Berlin and coordinates the Institute's activities on Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Her work focuses on the science-policy-society interface, supported by transdisciplinary research on NbS policy and governance, co-creation and stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and urban transformation. She currently coordinates the Horizon Europe-funded INTERLACE project, aiming to strengthen urban ecosystem restoration in the European Union and Latin America.
