At this online event we heard from two trainee psychiatrists who conducted a project in the Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust.
It was a QI (quality improvement) project on improving screening for REM sleep behaviour disorder (RBD) in patients referred to the Trafford Memory and Assessment Treatment Service (MATS) in Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust.
They describe the project and discuss why screening for sleep problems may be able to help in diagnosing Lewy body dementia earlier than it otherwise would be. As we know Lewy body dementia is under-diagnosed, this is a very helpful area to explore.
