You may be able to drill three screw holes oversize leaving one original size to tighten and use as a pivot to shift the cover up to get the needed clearance for the armature to clear. Then tighten the other screws. It only needs to move few thousandths. It appears the loading is all in one direction, so the hole doesn't have to be round just close

Maybe turn the shaft 180 oh yeah the key forgot, maybe swap the end plates? Egg shape is bad, turn the shaft and sleeve the bushing. Finding center turn the laminate surface so it won’t touch? Lots of work it would be worth it to make it good. Thanks for the video friend.

could you turn the shaft true and then true the hole in the end plates and make a bushing for them?

It's shrinking , but I think of the East Coast of Arkansas .
