I am soooo appreciative of your videos! I am a newbie at Styrofoam sculpture. I've been drawing, polymer clay,and cement sculpting for a several years.But Styrofoam is taking away, not adding on, so my brain is trying to adjust to this new concept. I need your help. Thank you so much ! I hope to be creating of beautiful one- of- a-kind garden fairies,and other outdoor creatures using what I've learned from you. I love watching Aden "the master" at work. Hugs to all his talented staff as well. You are ALL masters at your crafts! Thankyou all !

This is gorgeous!! OMG!! I LOVE IT! I was so interested in this because I have been trying to figure out how to DIY a tree with flowers. I was thinking of using a real tree and drilling holes to glue flowers on it. I wonder if that would work. I plan to try it. Wish me luck.

I've worked in this for 30yrs all the metal seems overkill
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios Год назад
The metalwork is so that the trees can come apart, and be joined again later. As this simply wouldn't fit through the majority of doorways in one piece. The metalwork also ensures the entire form is structurally sound, when they're moved from location to location. We have no guarantee that people won't attempt to climb the trees

Hello there Aden, I just love your works and inspires me as well. I have a question, from where do you buy such a huge blocks of polystyrene?
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios 6 лет назад
Yogesh Awale we buy it from a company called Kay Metzler in Essex in the UK
@yogesawale
@yogesawale 6 лет назад
Thanks for your kind reply. I am also a sculptor back here in Nepal, that's why I am so interested. Here most of the sculpting is done using water based clay and its not so flexible in some huge projects, so I am interested towards polystyrene. No product like polystyrene is imported here, so do this company exports polystyrene to other countries?

Besides commenting on the great dancing, I have some silly questions about the build. In a tight turn around project where the foam is removed from inside a fibreglass shell, would it be feasible to melt the foam and pour it out instead of cutting open the sections. Next question. I would resume that the metal supports are attached by fibreglass, would an expanding foam be strong enough to secure the job? I know that this would give you a large vat of dissolved foam to dispose of, but would the savings in manhours make it worthwhile? something like this? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K1XmjWDXJn4.html not sure on the cost but the client will pay for quick turn arounds
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios
@AdenHynesSculptureStudios 6 лет назад
Armoury-Terrain hey Armoury. Apart from the sections we cut out for the metalwork, we wanted to keep some of the poly inside the job, so that the foliage had more material to stick into later. Melting the foam from the end using an acetone or something of the like would have been very messy, and there was no guarantee that the foam towards the end of the branches would have stayed in place. Cutting away just worked out to be neater. And less mess to dispose of. Great question though :)
