Thats a brilliant idea about the bluetooth headphones. One tip I have is, ask the venue if they can provide 2 really comfy seats or a mini sofa to go in front of your stand, that way they can sit in comfort , eat popcorn and watch your movie. After walking around a hall for ages, they may just do that :)

Hey, thanks! It's an Avantree bluetooth transmitter and the TV is Samsung J6500

Another great video, what do you think a new starter should do in terms of what weddings fairs to get into. Obviously with the ones at the venues there are recommended suppliers like you that are more likely to get the business of the clients that are there as they're probably booked for that particular venue. Are there more general fairs in places that aren't specifically wedding venues? I'm just wondering how a new starter would fit into a wedding fair with recommended suppliers there...the only thing I can thing of is that they would have to compete on price.

Most fairs are pretty general, there are some that are invite only, but most places aren't going to turn you away from paying their rate to have a table. Look up wedding fair or wedding expo in your city, I'm sure you'll find a few of the larger ones that you can get into for sure.

Yeah just do some research around your area, there are always some that will have spaces. Especially if they’re charging a fee and you’re willing to pay it. Be on the look out for new venues opening up too.

How many bridal shows have you done and what is your success rate with your leads? I know people who book almost entirely from them, and I know people for which they are a complete waste of time. Unfortunately, we fall into the latter.

Agreed, some I know invest loads into it and it works! I'm in the same boat as you I think, I sometimes get a booking.. I think after a certain price point, your clientele aren't going to bridal shows. So they're much more viable for someone starting out or wanting to offer a discount etc etc.

I heard you say they usually don't book right there, but if they do, how is that done? Do you have paper contracts on hand for them to fill out, or is it done digitally somehow? ...Good vid. thanks.

I do all my invoices/contracts on a Pages document via email, so if they wanted to book there and then i'd fill it out on my phone and have them check their emails.

@@AdamWingFilms Thanks for the info. Question - So you've made your contract into something like a Google Docs form? Can that be legally/digitally signed? I would love to stop using hellosign.com. Seems like a more streamlined process. Thanks!

yep it's just a document I made myself and I send via PDF. I also state that by paying the booking fee (i.e. deposit), they are agreeing to the T&C's. So that serves as their "signature"

Hi Adam, would you discuss pricing with couples at the fair? Would you have a booking form or info sheet?

I try to avoid it to be honest, but I will if they ask. I don’t use a booking form myself, just chat to people and tell them to message me if they like, try to keep it informal. But nothing against booking forms, they are a good idea 😊

@@AdamWingFilms thanks man. I have my first one coming up in April and I'm just not sure how to approach it without coming off as amateur. Everyone else will likely have banners and branding everywhere and I'll be there with my TV and business cards 😂 which is representative of how we approach weddings I guess, so I guess it could be that way by design

Do you bring anything that shows pricing? Do you hand anything out that shows pricing or do you wait for the inquiry via email and send it then? I have an info packet PDF that I usually send in an email? Should I have copies or leave it to the imagination until the email?

I would tell them pricing if they asked but otherwise get a conversation going over email, have them buy into you before eventually giving them a price

I find bridal shows a complete waste of time. Budget brides

Agree to an extent.. I think the high end clients won't bother with shows generally but you do see the odd one so it's worth the risk if I want to stay in favour with a venue etc. These events are much better for someone starting out/ in their first year or two.. Interesting to get a US perspective.

@@BobbyBurns Sup Bobby. Your stuff is looking great. Anway, I did network with other vendors and now get referrals from a planner i met. So in some ways it's not always bad but I find most people freak out at my prices now

Yah I think in general time / money can be better spent elsewhere. Most bridal shows tend to attract people making their decision solely on price
