I know I’m 10 months late but is anyone gonna talk about the little girl trying to quiet them down ? 😂 Adorable , but soon she’ll learn the reason behind that beautiful haka.
Hey yes so there’s two chants/haka In this performance First song is: Paikea This song, known as the Ngāti Porou anthem, tells the story of Paikea's journey on the back of a whale, and of his love for the beautiful Huturangi. Second part Is a chant/haka called tika Tonu The message of this haka is of challenge, struggle, perseverance and achievement. Let us look at the use of one haka, Tika Tonu, which was composed by Waimarama Puhara in 1914 for his full-blooded Māori son Moana, who was attending an English boarding school We as New Zealanders are called Maori/kiwis Passionate about our culture Hope that helped you 🥰
