As a teacher of ballroom i really appreciate the general flow of the routine and the technique that was displayed was really nice. Song choice was amazing and really suited the style of the routine and the couple from what i've seen! Amazing display guys
Ditto. They also demonstrate confidence and a good amount of [amateur] technique, which does not happen with 99% of first wedding dances (hey - I'm happy that they can remember the majority of the choreography and not stumble through the actual dance).
As a ballroom dancer myself I can tell the routine these guys are showing is at solid Gold level (B or maybe even A class in Europe). These guys really shall go and take part in some ballroom championships, in case they haven't already done that :)
arclight I'm sorry, i am also a ballroom dancer, and no way are they as good as that. They are very good for amateurs but this is NOT gold standard. Could list a host of elements that are not there in terms of being that level starting with her free arm, her uneven footwork e.g.. occasional flat feet, he is quite slow and hasn't got the consistent detail or styling/phrasing. An insult to professional dancers to say this is pro level- are you sure you are one yourself? Nevertheless I would not want people thinking I didn't like this. Who knows how good they could get with training but they are not there yet!
Aaron Wilkins i know the reply is two months old but I think they have stated in one of the replies that they competed together in Latin dancing during their college years. I'm also in ballroom dancing but they looked like they were enjoying themselves!
Naw ameteur competition is still more advanced. They're doing gold level steps and open choreography, which doesn't mean they're professionals, but they are doing more advanced steps.
Love this! The jive is hard, high energy & fast paced (I've tried it). They definitely look like professional dancers, great kicks and flicks and beautiful turns!

Don't wait for the perfect one to come because there will never be a perfect partner.. nobody is perfect. My one advice to you, hopefully you will understand.
@@elaminmochichi7767 Exactly. My advice to this person, is to become the partner you're looking for. Once you show who you are, authentically, then a like minded person will be drawn to you, but don't get caught up in fairy tales. Nothing will destroy a relationship quicker, than unrealistic expectations. This couple obviously share a love of dance. Find your passion, then seek out places where there are others who share that passion. You'd have a better chance of building something solid, rather than waiting for that one special person.

I sometimes watch this dance over and over again and wish I had a dance partner to learn these moves. :) This is the best video of wedding dances... Hands down!
Suggestion, contact a dance school. Am sure there are others that want to dance & are looking for a partner. Not sure how Covid plays into this, but school will tell you their protocol.
Soon as they began to feel the music at the top, thought the viewers were going to be in for a treat. Nice to see they were slightly on the balls of their feet coming towards each other in the beginning, and thought they had a nice bounce throughout. Liked the sharp kicks/flicks, teasing hint of the toe heel swivel & chicken walks, fun sync in the side by side section; thought there was a nice balance of the fast and slow sections making it a fun and bright routine for all to enjoy
J K Ok? I'm sorry if this offends you but it bugs me how people in the comment section literally list in high tiered vocabulary what we JUST saw or are seeing in the video.🙄
I so miss dancing, especially the jive. We used to dance all the time. Put on the music, roll up the rug and go nuts. My husband's accident and multiple surgeries on his ankle ended all that. I loved watching this. Brought back good memories. Thank you
It's not about finding a husband who enjoys dancing. These two obviously are into it enough to take ballroom dance class. It's their thing. Most men can't do this, unless they take class. It doesn't mean other guys don't enjoy dancing now and then.
I feel like if this had broken out at a Hispanic wedding, the audience would've been literally screaming and bring down the house with whistles and applause.

I have to ask, why do think it might have been wrong of you to say that? If the lady in the video didn't want to show of her garter then she wouldn't have worn it knowing that she would show it off during the dance.

My Dad is 92 and my Mom is 88 and they have always amazed us kids, family and friends with there jive. I think the last time they did it was8 years ago at my nephew's wedding. But they never took lessons like this younger crowd. Back in the late 40's and 50's that's how they danced. They went to dance halls and danced Wish it was like that now. Dance halls where people danced, no drinking, just fun!
