(13 Apr 1953) Big crowds collected, of course, to see the arrival of Princess Josephine Charlotte of Belgium, who was welcomed at the frontier by her bridegroom-to-be, Prince Jean of Luxembourg, on the eve of their wedding. On the day itself, the ceremony in the Palace was followed by the solemnisation in the 13th century Cathedral.

Yes, it was touching to see him trying to comfort his bride. *She* looked on the verge of tears and rumour has it that, in love with a commoner she couldn't marry, she accepted to marry Jean of Luxembourg. A marriage of convenience which became a union of affection and love.
