Donny Walker turned me on to your channel, and I really am glad I have subscribed. You've got a great style, and the way you treated your friend who was working with you for the day speaks volumes. Words of encouragement and praise cost nothing, but have tremendous value. I love the content as well!👍
I'm not a timber faller, or a professional tree guy, but I love power saws and enjoy watching professionals work the wood. I enjoy all your videos and have learned a great deal watching your videos. Great job. Please continue making the videos. Awesome stuff. Thank you for your time, sir.
Mustache Mike gave some really good pointers at the end as far as your logging attire. Never gave those things any thought before. Didn’t realize how dangerous your leather belt or pants bottoms could be. This type of information could actually save a person from being seriously injured or killed. I’m glad I subscribed because this is the very important tips that everyone should know. Thank You !! Keep it up men !!
You guy's make great videos. I really enjoy watching them. Cuttin', fallin' and buckin'. No needless comments and stories, just good hard work and falling. Thanks for the videos. Hope you keep making them.
Gordy you're doing a Great Job!! Every time new content comes up I get excited!! I learned a lot from this video!! I have a 500i with all your mods on it so I especially like seeing how your saw runs!! Keep going Gordy!! People want to see this! You have the knowledge and the aftermarket skills to make it amazing!👍🏻 👍🏻
Another quality video. It’s surprising how much you learn just from observing a faller at the stump. Even if its just a little tip or trick. Thank you.
It’s cool to hear Mike and Dan talk about my family that came to snoqualmie back in the beginning of the mid 1800s the Kinsey’s were a big deal back then! My Great grandmother was Maxine Kinsey and Darius Kinsey was her uncle my great great uncle and was one of if not the best Logging photographer from back then he took pictures from Tacoma all the way to Sedro Woolley and everywhere in between! Their are a few pictures of the whole family and some of his logging photos at the Snoqualmie train depot. The Sedro Woolley historical society has all the negatives of my great great uncles pictures that he took over the years. He did a great job documenting the way the loggers manage to bring down some of the biggest trees we as humans ever logged, we can only imagine the lives they lived back then! Their are some great books with all of his adventures he did and most of his pictures as well. My mom owns most of them I will have to give her a call and dig up the names of them all if y’all are interested! Great video Gorty my 661 is still running like a raped ape have another saw I will have to drop off for you to go threw a bit of a different size than I would think you normally do. But I know it’s nothing you can’t get to where I want it to be. Thanks again and stay safe out there fellas!🤟🏻🇺🇸
I am from Victoria in Australia. I find your site most stimulating and Informative and I enjoy the way you freely give of your experiences without any Bull. Please accept my admiration and I follow your site most nights. I also enjoy the way you interact with all your friends and clients. Haggis
You've got it going on Gordy. I watch you guys back away from falling trees then watch the log jump and roll ten feet. That is one of the first things I do when sizing a tree up is how my exit plan is going to work when it goes. Saying you make it look easy is a complement to your experience and general know how. Decades of paying attention, expertise and the knowledge base that you have helps me understand things I can use on my end. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures, gotta get me one of those Go Pro thingys for sure.
Good info on the suspenders and pants. I wear old busted pants to cut in because they are old busted pants... never realized I was doing myself a favor
New subscriber watching from England 👍 Awesome content Gordy 👍 Kudos to both yourself and Mike for way you treated your pal throughout the day, like someone else said in a comment encouragement and praise go along way when your inexperienced, I certainly didn’t have that when I first started. Take care Gordy and see you in the next one 👍😎🇬🇧
Keep the videos coming! As a future video suggestion- saw a glimpse of your truck. Looks like a beauty! Can you do a video on her? Thanks, and take care. Devan
Love watching experienced fallers work. Thanks for going through the trouble to film some. I know it’s a pain in the ass when you’re trying to get work down and Timber on the ground and money in the bank, but we do appreciate it, promise.
What mike said about the belt and the bottom of your pants is very ,that right there is a good thing to tell Young guy or just some new guy .I'm liking your Chanel 👍
Nice to see you in the big timber, man that saw sounds great at full song. I have a set of your 3 point dogs on my 362, unneeded for my small clearing and firewood jobs but the saw just looks so good with them on. Sticker brush is a new one to me, in PA we'll call it jagger bushes, prickers or jing weeds. Keep up the good work.
Very interesting video. Just enough yack yack to balance the whack whack. As someone who was taught in a British forestry college a long time ago to cut 25-10-65 (and it has served me well for 35 years) those stumps look just perfect. Regards from Scotland.
You betcha I subscribed to this channel!!!! Nothing beats a chilly night here at our home in NW Montana, our log home with my wife laying next to me, watching these, and other videos she is on her, IPAD PRO 12.9 Love having a fire going in our bedroom 🛏 corner fire 🔥place 🔥 both doors 🚪 open on it for right now. And having WEST COAST SAW / GUILTY OF TREE🌲 SON AUGUST HUNICKE &, REON ROUNDS, watching all kinds of different outstanding! Fantastic videos!!!!
Excellent channel! I also have to say that customer service is awesome at Westcoast Saw. I’ve gotten several things there and if there’s an issue with something they get it taken care of ASAP and are very nice to deal with! Thank you for what you’re doing Westcoast Saw!!!
Like your videos keep it up ..... shop videos logging different cuts for different falls and that Anton special perfect sight with the tape and snipe. That's some accurate falling.
Thanks Gordy, good video as always. And thanks so much for the excellent customer service too. You guys are awesome and your nailing it, producing exactly the kind of gear guys need. Regarding chain, depends on context and grind etc. but imho generally semi-skip is the best, give me a call and I can explain why 😄 Thanks so much again for everything, God bless you all! 😎🤙 Andy
I as a forester that forced fallers to fall very valuable pine in a given direction to prevent breakage was a uphill battle for years.. I used stage falling.. The effort is to fall a few into holes and skid.. fall more into the same holes and skid.. Clearcut fallers just tip them over the easy way and break very good wood into junk.. In some areas Huge trees lean over creeks and falling trees into streams causes huge issues to fish and soil.. Over the years I met over 3-400 fallers but could only count the best on one hand.. Jacking became very important where young growth was growing and Jack strawing big trees wiped out the whole stand.. Thus 40 year old young stand is lost underneath..Soon fallers understood profits increased if not broken trees and clean up costs to understory where not there.. The goals became to fall big trees.. a couple ..skid and fall more into the same homes and skid and then clean up.. The new stand is still there.. on steep ground the effort gets harder.. Jacks can push a leaning trees straight up and then over into a great lay where breakage is minimal.. Things are still improving and imagine jacks pushing up 150,000 pound trees.. to a straight position then over into a existing hole in the canopy.. Everything is getting better these days with knowledgeable fallers who like this guy are doing a fantastic job.. It’s takes commentment.. ☺️😁. Plus the value on big pine can be over 20-30 times more valuable than fir too…. So it very important to get every piece to the mill not broken up and wasted..
I switched to suspenders for the most part because they let me work harder. With a belt I have to readjust my pants more often as I'm working, it slows me down. Or the belt will migrate down and put weird pressure on my hips or back.
The pants question! I was rather curious as to why y'all cut the cuffs off. Really enjoy the content. Between West Coast and Guilty of Treeson I feel like I've really learned some valuable info.
I like seeing the videos I'm new to the tree world some what I have about two years experience running my own tree gig and it's nice to see the felling side of things and watching you work is about the closest thing I get to learn from
Bought my first couple pieces of your gear today here in the interior of BC Canada (dogs and depth guage) from watching your videos. Awesome gear!!! Will be happy to continue supporting you Gordy👍
