Thanks for reminding me of my late dad. He worked for Berger Paints for 18 years and it was always a bit of a thrill when their adverts appeared on TV! :)
Fantastic reel .. I user to love watching the advert s in the 70s .. no political agenda, just plain people and simple ads. Can't abide television in 2022, it's rubbish. Is it ok to say I wish we could go back and live in 1976?
I've been searching for a Sunblest commercial from around 1972/73 featuring a Sunblest van accompanied by a jingle which went 'Fresh every day the Sunblest way'.
I have a book that features that Berger Paints advert called Masters Of Animation by BBC Books 1987, it might be hard to find, the Sunblest singing sun was very memorable especially the campaign from May 1977 in the middle of All You Need Is Love documentary, the lyrics were Sunblest Sunshine, Sunblest taste my goodness when I shine upon the wheat, Sunblest making all the goodness baking bread you just can't beeat etc. Days of yore, but better than now.
Do you think a lot of Thames graphics were done by acid droppers, especially The Benny Hill Show from 1976 and FOTA Face on the Armchair trailer for Armchair Thriller, freaked me out before bed and Primary School. WOOOOO!!!
@@davidstewart9665 you want to check out the graphics on two shows made by Thames's rival way before '76; the first is from 1970 ' Tales of Unease' ( LWT ) & from 1972/3 also LWT ' The Frighteners'. Very scary stories from everyday situations that spiral out of control.
A year later, Sunblest workers went on strike. As they supplied most of the baked goods for the South East of England, this caused a bread shortage. Aaah the memories.
The Berger Paint advert reminds me very much of the early 1970s intro to the ABC Movie of the Week. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AgDWs15sR84.html
