I am planting our 2 Acres of pumpkins tomorrow. We will then spray it with mix of Dual II Magnum & Command herbicide... Later on in the season Voliam Xpress insecticide... And once pumpkin plants are ambush stage we will spray Bravo ZN fungicide. This is our first year spraying g chemicals, seems like we are using so few in comparison to you, I think you mentioned about 4 herbicides alone, this scares me a little. Cheers!
How many pints per acre do you apply strategy and duel? Just as a FYI, just want to get a feel for how heavy you apply. Example strategy says 2-6 pints per acres. I feel I did not apply heavy enough this last year.
I am using Sandea and Reflex this year for the first time. ( 05/2023) I have my pumpkins planted but no rain in the forecast for 7 -8 days so I have to wait.
@@Mtnfarmer Thanks. My problem is I have to rely on the landowner to spray for me. It was hit or miss last season. They used Brawl and it did nothing to control the three weeds that were the worst. Pigweed, water hemp and creeper vine. Hopefully the new herbicides combine will work better.
i sprayed stadia(generic sandea) after tilling between rows in early july beofre a 1" rain. I still seemed to have an issue with lambsquarters, canada thistle, pigweed, smartweed, and nightshade. are the pre emerge products designed to 'kill' the weed seeds, or does it just prevent them from germination? reason I ask is if you amend the soil yearly will you kill the weed seedbed at some point? i'll have to research reflex and strategy as well. i see reflex is labelled for soybeans?
Looks like the wonderful summer weather here in NYS delivered me a dose of anthracnose on my pumpkins. I've never had this before, so while I sprayed, I had no reason to spray for this. Also growing some odd varieties that I'm sure were not resistant. It's just become apparent, looks like it's on some of the newer leaves, and I'm starting to apply manzate and chlorothalonil. Is it possible to fend off the disease, or will I be buying pumpkins for Halloween? Thanks.
