In a season that has had almost everything already, we found something else: a delay due to lightning, and then a mud race! Jason Weigandt walks and talks through the tunnels and pits of New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, where it was still raining very late at night. But the Firepower Honda team was still up after a huge win for its rider, Max Anstie. Mud is your bud!

Obviously it doesn't happen often in the US but when there is a mudder in SX or MX there should be a goggle lane like the GP's. Make it a compulsory stop like a joker lane. Having riders riding without goggles is a serious safety issue, kickstart Kenny could have lost an eye if a rock in the roost hits an eyeball.

They can stop at the mechanics area anytime during the race to get goggles, Kenny made his own decision and I would bet he is completely fine with the risk he took, the team had goggles ready in case he needed or wanted them

I feel like the mud might’ve helped Eli with his knee after that crash and Cooper didn’t look comfortable on the mud whereas Eli is a great rider in the mud

I feel bad for the guys hauling off the dirt. It’s hard in truck when the material is heavy. Hopefully the rain didn’t make it deep into the material. The dirt boys are going to be shoveling tracks after they’re done

I'm stoked that Firepower Honda got the Dub, but let's not get it twisted, they're NOT a privateer team. You roll up with a Semi with a wrap on it and a Motorhome parked next to it, that's not a Privateer team I'm sorry lol.

yo Weege this mud race worked because of the gravely dirt they normally have there. had it been a softer version where the ruts dropped in deeper it would have been a no jump situation.

ya know weege, motorsports used to be about the machines...not the men. if Tomac burns up a clutch in the mud it's because his bike wasn't good enough. thats what MOTOR sports is supposed to be about... not grown men worshipping other grown men. the purpose of racing is to showcase and market the machines.... do you mean the dual lens winter goggles? if so, yes. they greatly reduce fogging in this condition. both from the anti fog coating, and from how the inner lens stays warm while the outer lens handles the elements.

@@HUSKY7-1 sounds like tear-offs or roll-offs. most MX/SX racers use tear-offs. roll-offs are more of a cross-country racing thing. watch how funny it is to see Jett Lawrence sit on the gate and pull off about 5 of his tear-offs. race mechanics often put a whole bunch on in case the track has wet spots, but its blurry to look through so many layers. faster guys will wait till they are out in front and rip off a bunch to get better vision. its smart to count how many you have and later remove so you can leave one or two as a back up if someone passes you.
