We brought in a structural engineer to come inspect this wall to determine if it was structural. This wall turns out to be a partition wall (curtain wall, non load bearing) so we are able to knock it down without having to add a beam of support on top. Knocking down this wall is going to allow us to add a kitchen island and expand the size of our kitchen! We have so much work ahead of us: finish installing drywall, install cabinets, flooring, backsplash, appliances, and more so stay tuned!

I will say knocking this wall down was a lot more work than I thought 😅 we are getting rid of the wood floors to blend floors of both rooms and the floor we laid down in the room next to this one

I love your channel because it’s real and you leave everything in. My son in law and I have discovered so many strange things in redoing my home (my husband helps when he’s in town 🙂) and some of it is downright scary…it is most definitely a learning experience! Y’all are doing great. I’m excited for y’all!😊

Thank you so much! I try to leave in as much as I can, we all gotta start somewhere 🫡 one day I’ll be a pro 😅😅😅. Doing house renovations is literally opening a can of worms! You are playing roulette with every move 🫨 you get it 😅

😂 Our house was built in 1850 so pre-electricity Era... It has 2 rounds of electrical work in it. (Knob and tube and Romex) I remember the first time I vacuumed after moving in and the TV was on and a few lights... it tripped the breaker and guess what I found out?!? Almost the entire downstairs is on a single circuit INCLUDING the basement... which is where the panel is! Ay yi yi!!!! 😵‍💫

Love watching your videos and how real they are. We are also renovating our house, although we are in the UK, so a lot of things are different. You've mentioned in one of your videos that English is only your second language, what's your first language? Just curious :) Would love to see a Q&A with you guys to hear your story. Love your names BTW :)

Thank you!! That makes me happy to hear 😊 I try to keep in as much as I can even if it makes it looks silly. We aren’t perfect! ❤ I’m from Puerto Rico so Spanish is my first language 😊 a q&a wouldn’t be a problem to do. I should put a poll up 🫡

@@theyorks it doesn't make it silly, it makes it fun 😁 Considering you only started doing DIY on this house, you guys are doing so well! I know it's not a trend anymore, but I would be so interested to hear your story in a video similar to the draw my life, even if it's just a story time and not actual drawing. To my ears, your English is pretty much perfect :D
