Thank you so much for posting these videos. I am due a hip replacement but I am terrified. Watching the progress of this lady's recovery has made me feel a bit better about the surgery.
I was scared also and put it off way too long and 4 weeks out today from a anterior approach, week 3 walking alot without a cane and use it to get off sofa at times. You start improving pretty quickly. Good luck
Thank you so much Shelly. I am 72 and aren’t as fit as you. I will be happy to be able to walk , line dance and play bowls. The pain now is so debilitating. I also couldn’t find anyones real experience post hip replacement. So thank you once again. I can see how doing the physio exercises are really important. I am in Australia and we have universal health care also. I wonder if I should try getting more fit before my op. I am having it in about 2 months? I can access a heated pool so I think that would work for me.
@@SwimCycleRunCoach My surgeon recommended that I give up running after my replacement. He said it will wear out the replacement quicker. What was your surgeons recommendations about running? Thanks
My surgeon said his aim was to make sure I could do everything I did before the surgery after the surgery and that included running. I have heard this said before that running will wear out your hip quicker but what does that mean 10 years ? 20years? For me it is about quality of life and that includes running. I probably run 15 -20 k a week on pavements not rough ground and so far I feel great shelley
@@SwimCycleRunCoach Hmmmm, everybody is different. For me would be opposite. Better have a revision after...15-20 yrs than 10. I am only 4 days post op.
