Packers infurriated me yesterday. During most games, they will try 1 maybe 2 outside runs with receiver in motion and run outside the tackle a few times. They were getting 4yds a carry inside the tackles and -4 yds on those wide runs but instead of doing it once or twice it was as if that was their game plan and I was so frustrated! Then Malik Willis comes in and they run between the tackles and destroy the Jaguars!
. Idk what Simms was watching that he thinks packers attack regardless of who is at QB. The lack of aggressiveness is what allowed JAX back in it. Finally got aggressive after JAX tied it with just under 2 min left and that’s what won them the game. Thru 2.5 games, Willis has proven he is capable of operating the offense as usual. Doesn’t seem like MLF agrees with that sentiment.
Nah you're missing a lot. Willis even said they called that big pass play twice before they hit it and had to check to a run because they didn't get the defense they wanted. If you're seeing Willis throw downfield it's because they called a specific play hoping for a specific defense and when they get it they'll let him throw. Otherwise they're expecting him to hit short routes and facilitate the run
@ that’s the entire point you’re missing. You think Love is checking out of pass plays and into run plays or just checking into a different pass play? Based on the fact somewhere around 40% of the 39 plays Love was in for were run plays vs around 80% of the 27 plays Willis was in for were run plays, it’s pretty easy to tell what the answer is. Not only that, but that MLF scaled back his typical aggressive pass play game plan and started calling more runs in the huddle.
