OMG you read my mind with the referee and officiating comments. I never watch you, but my hubby does and I hear you as I'm passing through the room :-) but this really caught my attention today and is exactly why I stopped watching football. The couple of LSU games we've been to this year have reminded me of the poor officiating. 🤦♀️ I've been begging my hubby to create Referee AI! 🤣
Honestly it's everywhere. Nearly all the Nebraska/Big 10 games this year have had some pretty bad officiating. To the point where the guys can barely play the matches =/ just bad all around. With very few exceptions
AI technology would be good for a review. Just as a tool for them to refer to. It would even be good as a check to see if their "rules" are logical - if the computer is wrong, it means the rules you told it to are illogical.
I mean Josh wasn't the only one saying it. Indiana had to face something better than what they had, which they did, but they proved they may be better than Ohio St even this year with what they did last week
@@CrazeeAdamthey destroyed their competition. destroyed them. they are #3 overall in point differential. this isn’t Miami escaping every week, Indiana beats Miami head to head because they have a defense
@@GoatedAtNFSwhat did I just say? They could be better than Ohio St. Which is a huge compliment. No matter what you think of Ohio St. They are still very elite. But I could see Indiana beating them after that last game. Truly. I'm not disagreeing. But it was hard to tell when their competition before last week had been pretty lack luster
Refs are paid like school teachers, or even less. What do you expect from them? If you want accurate calls, make them full time employees, train them full time like professionals, and pay them that way. It’s stupid to complain about their impact on highly paid coaches and players when they themselves are paid so little.
Agree with you but how sad that school teachers are our example for a poorly paid position. And we leave our kids with these people for more hours than we see them ourselves. :(
If (note that I used the word if here) BYU makes the CFP semifinals (meaning they win the big 12 and win a playoff game), is this grounds to abolish the JP power rating and replace it with a JP opinion poll?
If LSU is power-rated above Bama on a neutral field, and LSU plays Bama at home, and Bama already has two conf losses and LSU has 0, why does Bama have better odds to make the playoffs?
@@markwilliams6035 that has nothing to do with the power ratings and the fact that power ratings say they should lose to LSU on the road and pick up a 3rd L.
@@johnfontenot3275 those aren't his odds though he's never claimed to be an oddsmaker he just does the power ratings. tbh with you, I think Bama has better odds cause of an easier schedule the final weeks if you're looking for an answer
Josh defending the odds makers sounds like Hugh Freeze saying 9 out of 9 times we’d beat that team. The model lags a bit on teams like UofM and Washington and hopefully BYU(great story).
He came up with rules and criteria for what a good team is. Then he sees how it ends up. At the end of the year he sees if he needs to adjust his rules and criteria.
Clemson is still overrated. They will at best split either Virginia Tech or Louisville. My guess is they lose both, and here is why. Clemson defense is not elite. They played teams averaging 27.1 points per game or less with subpar defenses, even for ACC standards. Clemson's Next games will prove that winning games even in the ACC should count as a premium.
Counter argument - Miami is actually not that good. Clemson is pretty good. Clemson will win the ACC, but your point about Louisville and VT is clouded because of the Miami game.
So miami is now below clemson on the same power ranking that says miami has beaten its number 17 team handedly on the road and its number 23 team and Clemson has beaten..... nobody...... That's certainly a take to have JP Poll.
Miami beat Clemson last year at Clemson with a true Freshman QB & improved at QB & Dline but the model thinks Clemson would win on a neutral field cmon man😂
Cam Ward has thrown for 3 bills and 3 TDs in every game he's suited up for this year. Other than maybe the running back for Boise, Cam has been the most consistent player in the country.... Ill believe he can be outdueled in a game when I see it.
