I'm a freshman physics major at UT and online labs are awful. Mostly bc the prof. wrote the manual in like 10 minutes and the TA doesn't even know what's going on.

I remember seeing the types of physics students video when I was in high school and there was the undergrad students looking at grad students like they were celebrities... I understand it now

If you're taking a graduate course on GR, I strongly recommend David Tong's notes on the subject. I honestly believe they are way better than his QFT notes, and I feel genuinely privileged to have been in the lectures they are based on

hey man your vlog gave me a little motivation, i'm a physics masters student and i plan to do my PhD in particle physics, but I've been feeling pretty demotivated for more than a week now pending some work and research ( and not trying to contact my supervisor xp) but listening to you talk about physics and stuff made me feel less lonely xp, and now I shall hopefully do some research tomorrow on this two higgs doublet model.

If you think you're a bad grad student, I have TA duties that span like 3 days and then I spend 99% of the remaining time working on the class I'm taking. The final 1% is split between work for my collaboration and actual thesis. I'm positive if you asked my advisor he'd say I'm the least productive student in the world... btw I'm in particle physics in the branch of dark mtter and I'm part of the best experiment, PICO.

I just submitted my report on my online speed of sound lab, only I'm 9000 km away from you haha Happy to see a new video :)

This is the first of your videos I've watched since starting my PhD program. It was really encouraging to watch your videos while applying and it is no encouraging to see what the next few years will look like (roughly). I know the first year is often busy but with classes, TA duties, and all the required courses for new students not to mention cobid I have only been into the lab twice this quarter 😔

Just started my PhD (Quantum Engineering) in September from home. I was not able to join my lab directly due to travel restrictions (PhD in Canada, I live in France). But tbh this semester went super smoothly even with 6 hours time difference!
