What you wear is not responsible for men’s thoughts. They are the ones that stumble when they have those thoughts. It is never your fault for what a man thinks of you based on your clothes.

If you are following the conviction of the Holy Spirit in regards to your personal walk with God, I applaud you. I will say, however, as some others have, that women are not responsible for how men react or act on their clothing, etc. A reaction is a personal thing. There are literally countless subjects of immodesty at our fingertips and walking in the flesh in real life that men men are exposed too. We all have lust in us and have lusted after something. It is a choice. It is no one’s fault. We are all capable of self control. No one is perfect, but through Jesus Christ we can be and choose to be better

I started watching you before I became a Christian, now I can say I’ve been walking it out for about 3 years now! I’m so so thankful with how open you are about your faith! I love hearing you share your convictions in such a loving, joyful way! Thank you so much!

I think men and boys have overall self-control and are able to control their minds and bodies. It's totally cool that you mind sharing your body in certain angles, but the reasoning puts me off a little. Nevertheless, despite this small fragment I truly enjoyed your video. Keep up your great work!

6:42 I love that you are conscientious about being a woman of faith but also what you put out there. As far as content and being modest I think you are spot on. However as a mom of boys and an older person. I have to kindly disagree with what you said about being provocative for others especially someone’s son. If a man, or boy is looking at you in that manner that is not bc of you that is the other person. What is sexy or can be construed as sexual is different for every person. To me this feeds into old mentality that it the women’s fault etc. Or it’s a women’s place to please her man. I don’t want to sound mean or hurt anyone. You are modest and your content reflects that because that is who you are as a person and a believer.

My thought is to not put the tv above the fireplace! Put it on a vintage piece like a credenza/entertainment stand to bring in some warmth to the space. This opens up a lot more options for seating layout also! The best advice I was given from an interior designer is to not let the first thing you see walking into the main living space be the back of a couch :)

Always get excited when your vlogs come out. It was so cute with teddy and how relaxed when your brushing him. Your house is coming along so fast! I know its not exactly regarding modesty convictions but when you were talking about being " mindful and accountable" it really hit me. I'm going through some tough times with a friendship because I feel all of the sudden she's doing things she's never done before and not taking those 2 qualities shes always had into consideration like she used to and it's been really hard to see. I really work hard to be mindful, curteous and accountable to everyone so I'm struggling at knowing what to do. It just feels like it's become such a " me" society and its scary what's down the road and how we treat each other with kindness. So thank you for sharing your thoughts and those 2 words as well. It's important qualities that I think we need to really share with each other now more then ever. 😊

Not sure if you've already decided what to do with the clothes Plato's Closet didn't take, but I always take my leftovers to another Plato's Closet! At least in my experience, they usually take some more items!

Honestly I wouldn’t put the tv above the fireplace. You don’t want people seeing the back of the couch first. I would put the tv against the stairs with a sectional facing that way and decorate the fireplace mantle how you please! Just imagine how it’ll look when you first walk in you don’t want to see the back of the couch

You are the sweetest. Been following you since you were in college. You remind of me when I first got married at 21 in 00. I think you can do a couch and a chair. Do it diagonally with a rug. That defines the area. Cause we have the same lay out with fireplace as focal point. Could do couch and then chair on either side with maybe a small coffee table or ottoman.

If that is a closet under the stairs, I would say put a couch with a right side chaise or a short L sectional on the right side. Then I would put a regular couch or love seat on the other side where the window is next to the closet door. Then maybe a recliner kiddy corner by the sliders. Tie it all together with a rug and coffee table.

I appreciate you talking about modesty, but the viewpoint of taking responsibility for others sin has really affected the decisions i make. I dont believe God wants me to have a victim mentality about what i do, which is what happens when we take that responsibility. Wanted to give my two cents.

I not only think of my brothers in Christ, who also have their own responsibility to submit their eyes and thoughts, but my sisters in Christ too - being ax example to women especially younger girls than me and just all the wonderful ladies I want them to see modesty through me and not feel alone in wearing modest outfits! Maybe try taping out the measurements in the living room of what a sectional version couch & chairs would look like and move it around to see what works best. I’m a very visual person and need to do that a lot to really see what I’m working with

It was the one thing that I didn't despise going it was getting me out the door to do it. Thank you for being one of the few Christian RU-vidrs that I know of to speak on modesty with the mindset of being aware of how what you’re wearing could cause another man to stumble. Way too many Christian women feel like they can wear whatever they want and if it causes another man to stumble than that’s his problem. That is far from honoring the Lord and your brothers in Christ. Sure it’s a heart issue, but as women who follow Jesus, we need to be thinking about how what we’re wearing might be affecting someone else.

Try selling your clothes at an actual consignment store. That is what I do and they take a lot more and give you a lot more money

Just a friendly reminder that modesty, in the Bible, is almost exclusively in reference to flaunting wealth. Even when clothes are mentioned, contextually it is still about flaunting wealth. The Western church has sexualized the Biblical principle of modesty. So the view of modesty that you’re perpetuating is not only unbiblical it’s also un-Christ-like because it is falsely representing the Bible and God’s view on modesty and also perpetuates rape culture whether you intend it to or not. It perpetuates the same attitude someone has when they ask a rape victim what she was wearing as a possible reason why the rape happened. Which is unacceptable and disgusting and victim blaming. This view of yours makes people feel guilty for simply existing in the body that they naturally have, and it objectifies people. And anyway God never puts the responsibility on anyone to cover up more for others, he only puts the responsibility on those who objectify others. So this twisting of scripture and Christianity, well I’m sure is unintentional on your part, is also very toxic and inaccurate to both a biblical and Christ-like world view, and also to the health well being of people. Please consider looking more into this on your own. For just one resource other than the Bible to get you started; Sheila Wray Gregoire is a Christian woman with a podcast called Bare Marriage and she explains this in broader context very well. But of course there are many other resources out there that are easy to access that can help explain what I’m saying as well. I hope you’ll take the time to educate yourself and stop believing and perpetuating this false and harmful idea of modesty that you have.

As a Christian, this is the saddest video I’ve seen from you! The idea of you thinking Jesus and God think of you as a woman responsible for men’s bad and disrespectful actions is just sad, and also it just justifies childifying men and them being disrespectful, e.g. if Sam were to stare at a woman’s body, would you take it as a woman-who-has-spent-years-finding-herself’s fault? Im pretty sure he has a conscience and his look might even cause discomfort to the other woman, who might actually be covered up anyway! God is much better than this, he cares about you more than this. To go above and beyond seeking our brother’s in Christ good way and behavior, or their ease of mind by not being a temptation, by our doing and not by teaching them to always be mindful and respectful sons of God is such a lack of trust of Gods work in peoples’ lives and reflects of how your Church thinks of women’s bodies as implicitly sexualized by their impression of modesty; and this kinda thought is what has so sadly and horribly justified blaming victims over men’s harassments, like telling a 2 year old her grandpa raped her because she was wearing a diaper. This is not the type of modesty we see in the Bible, i encourage you with love to look it up for yourself!
