been watching and rewatching all of your videos all summer- your channel convinced me to choose SCAD! I cannot wait for fall! thank you for all of your beautiful videos and information🤍
This just means so much to me! 🥹 Thank you so much for watching. I’m so grateful the videos could be of help to you. Wishing you the best start to your SCAD journey! ✨🐝
i got accepted to scad about a month ago and it’s my top school! i’ve been trying to do a bunch of research about student life and individual experiences, i watched your dorm tour as well and let me just say they were so cute and helpful!!! watching both of them made me really excited and I can’t wait to attend next fall!!!
Oh I am so happy to hear this!! Thank you so much. Wishing you the best of luck on the start to your SCAD journey! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions :)
Ah thank you SO much!!! That is super exciting! I love it here in Savannah for sure! Although, I am sure that any of the campuses would be a great option :) Let me know if you have questions about anything! Best of luck!
100%! You were definitely a key part to our Tuesday/Thursdays too post-class time (though not shown this week sadly) and I’m extremely grateful for it 🙌
I’ve been accepted as a transfer student for this coming fall. I have a question, how accessible is SCAD do you think? I’m in a wheelchair, so that’s a big part of my decision. Great video!
Congratulations!! That is super exciting!! From my perspective, I would say SCAD is pretty accessible. Each bus has ramps that take you to each facility and the buildings have ramps and elevators. The campus is spread out throughout downtown Savannah which can be bumpy on certain brick roads/sidewalks and also busy at times but I’d say that with the buses, ramps, and elevators, it should be good! Each dorm also has handicap rooms that are a bit more spacious I believe for accessibility. I will try to be on the lookout for anything I notice that might apply to this question or if there are any other students in wheelchairs I could ask and connect you with. I hope this helps! Thank you so much for watching the video. I wish you the best of luck and please reach out with any more questions!
@@jennifermoore7343 Hi there! Thank you so much for watching! I am so glad the videos could be of help to you all. It is called a "multi-track" Trek bike. I think it is some sort of hybrid between a mountain and street bike but I am not exactly sure. I would totally recommend bringing a bike if able! I absolutely love biking around Savannah. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Ah, that means so much! I’m so glad it could help. Hoping to make more videos soon! Wishing you the best of luck! Let me know if you have questions about anything.
Just into SCAD a couple months ago, still trying to decide on where to go but this might have made my decision. Super helpful and interesting vlog have to say, would absolutely love to see more🫶🏼
Congratulations on your acceptance!! This feedback means so much! I’m so glad it could help. I will definitely be putting more videos together in the future! Let me know if you have any questions about anything! Wishing you the best.
this is such a cute vlog. i am in love. I am hoping on attending scad in a year, and hopefully if everything works out attending the rising star program this summer!! Everything looks so nice!
Great video! My daughter starts there in like 2 weeks!!! You seem like a very well-rounded, talented, and grounded young woman. I wish you continued success and fun at SCAD!
I’m an aspiring film major (specifically for post-production in editing/special effects etc) and wanna know if you’d recommend SCAD for that? From what I can tell I don’t believe that it’s their specialty, but I want to ask for any advice or recommendations you might have! Also, just in general, is SCAD worth it? (ALSO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VLOG! ITS GENUINELY SO VERY LOVELY AND HELPS A LOT WITH UNDERSTANDING THE CAMPUS! :D)
Hi there! Great questions! I am currently a film major but have not taken any post-production courses yet. So, I cannot speak to how the post-production side of things are in specifics yet necessarily but in my other current film classes so far, I can tell you that I have learned so much! Feel free to check out the courses list for Film and Television on scad.edu to read more about what SCAD offers in that regard. I hope to make a SCAD advice video soon so stay tuned! In my opinion, SCAD has been so worth it to me! The experiences, collaboration, workshops, events, connections made, classes, and opportunities available to me as a student have been incredible. Thank you so much for watching and let me know if you have any other questions.
This is really well done. My son just applied for fall 2024 and we did our tour of SCAD Savannah this summer and were all so impressed. My son was invited to the animation fest this coming week, so we are looking forward to seeing the Atlanta campus. What made you decide on Savannah? Also i noticed most students have laptops, will they advise you on which to get? Currently, my son just has a desktop.
Thank you so much! Hope your son has the best time at animation fest! I did not have much interest in residing in Atlanta when applying and really loved Savannah when we toured for SCAD day! Although, I still have yet to actually visit the Atlanta campus. I plan to spend a quarter there at some point in the next year though! I already had my laptop when coming to SCAD so I did not request any guidance on which to get but I know that any professor in a student’s major could help in deciding what would be needed.
My daughter is a junior in high school in Florida and she'll be going to the scad summer seminar this summer and considering scad for college. I was wondering how you find Christian activities/church/friends/fellowship there. Loved your video!
That is so exciting! I hope she really enjoys the summer seminar! Great question. Finding Christian friends and fellowship at SCAD was definitely something I was nervous about when deciding to attend as I wasn’t sure what that would look like or what was offered here. For starters, my roommates and actually quite a few of my Christian friends found each other on the @scad2026 Instagram page. There will more than likely be a page similar to this one for your daughter’s class. This page provides a way for prospective students to submit a couple of photos of themselves along with a bio telling a little bit about themself. From there, people following the page can reach out to one another. I had put that I was a Christian gal within my bio and had some other Christian people that were following the page see my post and reach out. And I would reach out to other people I saw. After getting here, I discovered that there were actually quite a few Christian clubs, gatherings, and churches close with college groups! Here are a few that I know of (the instagram accounts will give you more information on them and the various gatherings/activities): CBC - Community Bible Church College Ministry Instagram:@cbccollege @cbcsavannah Ninety:Nine Instagram: @scadninetynine Compassion Christian Church College Gatherings Instagram: @compassioncollege.sav @compassionchristian RUF at SCAD Instagram: @rufscad SCAD Cru Instagram: @scad_cru I hope this helps! Wishing your daughter the best! Let me know if you have any more questions. I hope to do a video in the near future answering various questions people have about life here at SCAD so feel free to be on the lookout for that!
Such a fun video! I'm an incoming film freshman so I'm super curious about how you guys got the job as extras? Also curious if you can talk about what it was for since its been awhile? :)
Thank you so much for watching!! That is so exciting! SCAD actually emails us a lot of the opportunities available around Savannah. You can also look on various casting websites! If you email the SCAD production coordinator to put you on her mailing list, she’ll send you all types of opportunities! I actually talk about the movie it was for, actors in it and such in a SCAD q&a that I just posted earlier this week if you’d like to hear about it! Here’s the link: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MJ8sKfxd0F8.html Wishing you the best of luck this year! Let me know if you have any other questions. :)
Oo, that is a great question! I know that the Hive is for first-year students. However, I’m not sure if it would be different for you since you’ve been online so here is the number of the SCAD Residence Life and Housing office in Savannah: (912)-525-7000 I’m sure they would be able to answer that question for you!
@@niah_jo thank you soooo much for your response and that what I been wondering for myself because I really just started and my start date is March and this will be my first semester plus I was going to do summer classes online as well till September to move down there
Thankyou so much for posting this!! I have been accepted for fall 2023 and I have been thinking about going for scad.I have a question, I’m an international student from India so are there good vegetarian options in the dining hall? Also I’ve heard a lot of bad things about the dining food, so how is the quality now?
That is SO exciting! Congratulations! They do have vegetarian options in the dining hall! Next to each dish they serve is a description of them and there are always symbols next to the description to tell whether they are vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc. or not. There’s variety in the dishes served. I personally try to eat gluten free when I can at the dining hall and have not had any complaints so far. Some dining halls are better/serve different foods than others so I think it depends on personal preference/experience. Let me know if you have any other questions!
great video! I was wondering what the workload is like/any downsides you've noticed while at scad. I'm currently interested in attending because i was accepted, but also scared due to the price
Thank you! Oo, great question. I think the workload definitely varies upon the class and the professors. My tip is to use ratemyprofessors.com when registering for classes, read the course descriptions, and also talk with other students if you can to get a feel for how the class will be. That way you can try to somewhat cater to what will work best for you. A downside could be the fact that it is expensive, although there are scholarship opportunities. I would also say that you want to make sure you’re always with someone when walking at night especially, maybe carry around a mini pepper spray, as Savannah isn’t always the safest. Just be aware of your surroundings as in anywhere. I’ll have to do a video responding to these questions more in depth and share my own experiences and thoughts on these. So hopefully be on the lookout for that in the future! Let me know if you have any other questions. Best of luck!
@@niah_jo Thank you! Yes I would love if you made a video on these things, especially dorm life. I love the suite style dorms of the Hive, but really wish that there were things like a kitchen or stovetops in dorms. Could you possibly talk about the ups/downs of living in the hive? also if cooking in dorms is allowed? I have visited scad before and the food seems to be pretty good in variety and taste, but i also love cooking my own meals!
@@grace-ms2we Absolutely, I would love to talk through these in a video! Feel free to check out the housing information + policies for each dorm on SCAD’s website, scad.edu to learn more about what each residence building offers and has rules on. I will definitely put these on my questions-to-answer list for a q&a video!
Congratulations!! I totally understand that. The expense can definitely be the downside but make sure to take advantage of the scholarship opportunities offered if you can. If you are able to take AP or dual-credit courses, that will transfer for college credit at SCAD, in high school, that can also be something to help with expenses! Feel free to reach out to a SCAD transfer advisor for help on what courses you could take through a community college that would transfer if approved! It can be nice to get most of those gen-eds out of the way through community college overs summers and such.
Hi there! If you are referring to the pool used by all students for fun, it is located at the back of the Hive. It is shown at the beginning of this during on Monday. If you are referring to the athletics’ pool at the Athletic Center, I have not seen it as I am not on the swim team. However, here is the SCAD’s athletic website if you’d like to click around for more information and pictures! www.scad.edu/life/athletics
How do you feel as far as support? We went to accepted students celebration this past weekend and there was so much talk about making kids prepared, ready for industry, etc but not much about well being & support. Just curious if it feels like a pressure cooker or if the staff/professors/etc are supportive of students’ wellbeing as a whole.
Hi there! From my own experience, I feel that support is very available to me! From resources like “Bee Well” (SCAD’s health and wellness services), to the fitness facilities, collaborative community of students, peer tutoring, and professors that have office hours available outside of class to help students, I believe SCAD does a good job in providing support for students. However, I, as a student, have to be willing to do my part and put in the work by utilizing the skills and resources available to me. Otherwise, I can fall behind and become stressed. Although, I think that can be applied to almost any work. Professors’ teaching styles can vary so I always like to ask previous students’ experiences in addition to researching and looking at “ratemyprofessors.com” to read reviews before registering for classes. This way, I can try to find a professor that seems would be the best fit for me. I hope this helps some! Congratulations to the student accepted to SCAD! I wish you all the best of luck. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Through Instagram + Facebook! I actually talk all about this at the start of a SCAD q&a video I filmed linked here: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MJ8sKfxd0F8.html
Hi there! Great question! I talk about my personal experience with this in my SCAD Q&A linked here: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MJ8sKfxd0F8.html if you’d like to check that out! I also vlog me attending a foam party with my friends in the video linked here: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ns-1WUMYIIA.html if you’d like to check that out as well for more of a visual!
@@shrutiupasani8613 Awesome! The Hive, Chatham, and Turner House are the dorms available for first-year students if you want to live on campus as a freshman! It all depends on what you specifically are looking for. Feel free to look into the descriptions of all residence halls on SCAD’s website to decide what’s best. Here’s a link: www.scad.edu/life/residence-life/residence-halls
@@niah_jo Thanks! I also wanted to ask how you found your roommates or were they assigned to you by the college because they seem so sweet and I’m hoping I get along with my roommates! Was there anything specific you wrote while writing about what you would like to share with your roommate in your housing application?
@@shrutiupasani8613 My roommates and I actually found each other on the @scad2026 Instagram page! There is also a SCAD 2027 Instagram page as well if you’d like to check it out! This page provides a way for prospective students to submit a couple of photos of themselves along with a bio telling a little bit about themself. From there, people following the page can reach out to one another. I had submitted a short description about myself and would reach out to other people as I saw their descriptions if I thought we might click well together. My roommates and I all saw each others posts on there and reached out to one another, FaceTimed a few times and then decided to room together! They are such an answered prayed and I’m really grateful to have had that form of communication through that page before coming to SCAD so I would definitely check that out if you can! It’s a really great way to make new friends before coming. If not though, the housing application will ask you certain questions such as room temperature, night owl or morning person, etc. that hope to get an idea of how you live and who would be a good match for you. Wishing you luck and let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi there! I live in on-campus SCAD residence housing called “The Hive.” Any footage you see of me at my dorm was filmed there. You can find information about the various on-campus residence housing options here: www.scad.edu/life/residence-life/residence-halls
