Had my posterior hip replacement surgery on the morning of June 20th 2024. I was released the same day at 5pm. This is just a one week report on the days that followed.
I need to have both of my hips replaced . I've listened to so many of these videos, and, frankly, it scared me to death. Glad to hear you had a good experience. Maybe I need to get on with it and get rid of this pain. Thanks for all your reports and updates!!
@FOLLOWINGWALKERSWORLD Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, I only have pain when I walk. It's not like I'm in constant pain, but who wants to sit around all the time ? I recently retired and have things I want to do ! This hip situation is holding me down ! Lol
I remember having my hernia fixed about 5 years ago and, in and out the same day but had to pee before they would let you go home too. Good to see/hear that it went well for you and you seem to be well on the way to recovery on day 7. Cabin fever sure is a thing and so frustrating watching your wife do all the work, while you are just having to rest and take it easy. Take care buddy, cheers Alan
It's great you are doing so well. I know the feeling about needing to get out of the house. I even made reservations this weekend for a campsite at PMT. I'm going to brave the 90° heat.
DANG!!! That's a battlescar! Great to see that you're doing so well! You can TMI us when it has to do with your health; that gets a free pass. It's great that you haven't needed the narcotic so much. It's very smart to plan your surgery for summer! I don't like summer hiking either. Too dang hot. Nancy is such a trooper! What a great lady! Keep healing up good, sir! You're doing great! Nice hat! 😁 Hey, while you're house bound, watch a bunch of cool movies. Recommendations: 'A Walk In the Woods', 'Wild', 'The Way', and 'The Peanut Butter Falcon'. Keep getting better, and keep us posted! You're doing great! 😁💚👊
Thanks IB! I Appreciate You. I saw a couple of those movies but will definitely check out the others. I'll be back on trail in a couple months. John (SH) called yesterday & we are already planning a trip already. He & Tre are braving the heat on the PMT this weekend. You remember how hot that is! Thanks 👍👍
Im 6 days post op and not had one good nights sleep. These compression stockings give me pain ..on day 3 my legs became like tree trunks black and blue and developed a itchy rash. Went to a&e and a very young doctor said the swelling pain was doing its job. I asked about the compression stockings giving me so much pain and making my legs worse and my daughter is allowed to take them off 30 mins only. They saidvits quite normal. They sent me home with blood thinners and ibrophen n paracetamol. I can walk fine with crutches and once the swelling goes down maybe 1 crutch but atm my leg is so heavy im convinced its the compression stocking cos when they are taken off for 30 mins my legs start to reduce in swelling. Im not happy right now, 1 nights sleep might help. I am so tempted to throw them in the bin and risk blood clots im that depressed with the leg pain. You are very fortunate you are doing great. How long do they tell you to wear the compression socks? Here in uk they say 6 week's. For me that's my biggest problem. Thank you fir making the video, very informative. Speedy recovery blessings from across the pond.
@@carole_Uk I'm sorry to hear this Carole. Fortunately I did not have this problem & never had compression socks. I'm at 3 weeks now and again, very fortunate no problems & walking well. Keep in mind all patients have different results but with patience & doctors advice, most recover well. I hope change for the better for you soon. 👍
