Week Recap: Harvest, End of Bean Harvest, Still More Corn Harvest

It has been a longgg week. My brother, Andy, ended up having to stay at home a couple days longer than planned due to covid which was a huge help. We finished up soybeans this week, so it’s full steam ahead on corn. I stayed ridiculously busy with the launch of the Harvest Collection for my online store, Heart of the Midwest, and I ended the week feeling like I got hit by a freight train. Anyone else go from feeling great to coughing up blood in less than 24 hours?? And a huge thank you to all of the sweet folks who have sent snacks and drinks and all sorts of goodies! I (and the guys especially) appreciate it!
P.S. your comments and suggestions about getting something to make the sound better have been heard, and I am currently working on it!

My grandfather always told me... "If you can lift your head off the pillow then get in the field". He never missed a day until he was in his 70s. Cut fingers, broken ribs, pulled muscles. He was always moving.

Hello Erin, get better with the cold. Praying your week gets better. Your brother is quiet on camera but I’ll bet he’s a cool dude/brother. Looks like for you this week has been tedious and hurry up and wait a few times. I’ve noticed in all your videos that you and your family do all of the equipment repairs and maintenance. I’ve watched other farmers have a mechanic come out for their repairs.

Erin, hope you are feeling better. I am currently in a snow delay, here in northeast SD. About an inch on the ground and forecast for a cruddy week. If there wouldn't have been a couple of big breakdowns, I would be real close to done. About a third of the corn left.

I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 1st in August , we had the derecho, (in-land Typhoon), tore up everything. So that really hurt the farmers, they are trying to salvage what the can. Today we had 4-5 inches of snow, so that has slowed the farmers down. Good ole 2020.

I suffered with painful sinus infections years ago, until I found a novel way of getting rid of them, by using a vibrating massager. All you need is a face massager with a flat vibrating surface, which you gently hold on the painful sinus area for a few minutes at a time, until you feel some relief from the pain. The pain should gradually subside after a short while, as the sinus becomes less congested, and then it should clear up completely over the next few days. Love your videos BTW Erin and the Racoon.
