Santorini is probably one of those places that is on the bucket list of every travel enthusiast. After visiting this greek island for the 2nd time, I have to say it lives upto its hype and I surely enjoy my time there each time.
This video is our experience of an extended weekend in Santorini - doing our favourite things. While this island town can get very crowded during the peak season - travelling during the shoulder season of mid to late April and September can be a good respite from the crowds while still enjoying a good weather.
We visited around mid April (bear in mind that around this time it can get quite windy in the island)

The last time I visited Greece, from Germany where we lived back then, was 1979, with my wife. We also visited the place I grew up to see the woman I was told to call mother and her three sons I used to call younger brothers. We planned to stay 2 - 3 days, we stayed seven hours. The oldest of the three insulted us because (I know now) he thought I was there to ask for part of money his father had left behind when he died the previous year. We stopped any contact to them. Three years later, we received a phone call from them, they had found our phone number with the help of their phone company. One of the three had a problem with his heart and needed an operation if he was to survive. For this, he wanted to go “exo” that means to some other country. “Greeks” have unlimited trust to the world and especially England and only contempt for themselves and their country. Because of their country's restric- tions they were not able to get money out of their country they said. They needed our help. My wife said “ignore them”, I said I am the older brother (I believed I was) and more educated than them, I could not let the guy die. My wife started crying, she was wiser. I sent virtually all our savings to England. The guy, Giannis by name, the youngest to my knowledge, never said thank you and returned only 75% of the money I paid for him but only after one year and after I said I would go to their place and make the story public. I know now, they lied to us, they wanted us to pay their expenses for the operation, although very rich. I know now, all inhabitants of Greece believe that if you lived or live in Germany you are a millionaire. Fast backward, in 1969 - 1971, the oldest of the three, Georgios, was serving with the Greek military and was dragged in front of a Military Tribunal. I was a student, I had no income, my wife paid a lawyer twice to effectively save his life, you did not survive military prison in Greece back then and possibly still today. Georgios never said thank you and refused to repay my wife. The lawyer told us that he had purposely destroyed equipment. He saved him after he pleaded guilty for mental reasons. Fast forward, in 1993, we relocated to the USA, after re-unification the Germans were more nationalistic and the number of people sent to Europe from Asia and Africa was increasing dramatically. Fast forward, in 2018 my wife had a stroke, she was abducted five weeks later. Before, we made the mistake to decide to return to Germany. And I made the tragic mistake that is costing me my life now : I found their phone number on the Internet and asked them for the necessary information to send them our life savings, we saw no other way to send our money over. They were surprised to learn we were in America and cold. Very cold behavior. Not even one word of sympathy about my wife. But they changed instantly, became polite, friendly once I explained that we needed their help. At that point I should have cut off the contact and try to find another way to get help. But her stroke was a heavy blow, my brain had stopped working correctly. When they had our life savings they changed back to their previous behavior. And no response to phone calls and letters. They stole $73,000 (seventy three) thousand dollars. They had bragged on the phone how many “akinita” (real estate) they had, they stole our life savings to have more. The Greeks dreamed to be victorious in the Olympic Fights (wrongly called Games). Today's inhabitants of Greece dream of stealing enough to ha- ve “akinita”, “exohiko” (country side house to spend weekends and summer vacation), and a Mercedes. Whatever I did to recover the money failed. Their head of state, government, police, justice system, dozens of lawyers, many dozens of citizens in that hole, did not respond Except one lawyer from that hole who tried to cheat me. Phrangos by name or similar. Interpol did not respond. Contacting the FBI now but I do not expect much despite the fact that Greece is now de facto a colony of the USA. Tragic end of the story: The money I had not sent to the three thieves and the money I got from selling our household and car is coming to an end. The pension I receive from Germany is $910, it is that high because the value of the dollar is high. Zelensky demands more and more money and the Germans may decrease or cut off pensions to retirees to satisfy him. They refuse to pay to me my wife's pension for the last two years of her life. As her husband I have a legal right to it according to their own laws. They also refuse to pay 60% of her pension as their laws dictate. President Trump stopped paying pension from the American system in June 2017 becau- se “you are foreign born and receive pension from another country”. Periodically, they demand that I pay them $44,000 but do nothing to enforce it. I still have money for two more months. Then I have to commit suicide. Life as a home- less beggar is nowhere easy, in America is especially hard. The three brothers' names are Giannis, Andreas, Georgios last name Villios, they live in the dark hole called Aigion in Southern Greece. The youngest is 72 years old today, only he has a family. They said on the telephone. Hope this helps Greece's lovers get a more complete picture of the place.
