Hey Gypsy's Mom the reason was that the material I was using has a tendency to fray and I wanted these to last with all the weight they would take in them.
The bag you are sewing is cute, BUT SERIOUSLY, WHY are you NOT showing the project when you move to the table? You are off camera far too much of the time and the details are not being shown as you progress through the project. Sorry to complain but it is not easy to see exactly what you are doing, even when you are sewing at that angle.
