so a single piece of plywood turns into 2x4, 1x4, lag bolts, washers, wood screws and a cushion...who would have thunk it....why not tell the truth from the get go... actually look uncomfortable; your feet were not touching and you were afraid to lean back...

It seemed a little wobbly when he was sliding in the back and seat bottom. I would be concerned about that coming apart if my 15 yr old son flopped down on it like he does everything else. My suspicion is that the design is a hair wobbly because the sides are only 1/2 in. thick and flex a bit... Any design ideas for a mod?

In my opinion, The Kipkay videos have become to scripted, with to much pulp. The vids used to have a 2 sec intro, then a to-the-point, stepr by step explanation of how to do whatever. I've been following the vids since they were only available on metacafe, and I think that the quality has gone alot. They're still very good, but still, I think he could cut the pulp out a bit.

wow i bought a subscription, bought my plywood, bought a new saw, a cushion and some paints all for a my new chair..... No pumpkin filling. They dont even SELL pumpkin filling in maine now i gotta order some from holland. I read if you dont get the right filling from holland the curve doesnt come out right when you trace the can??

I'm a big guy, 6'5" 310lbs and this doesn't look like it would last very long for someone of my stature. Very neat little project for my kids room tho :) hes a big boy too so he might grow out of it sooner than id like lol

I was just saying the video was misleading, since he made a chair that was supposed to rock backwards. Not just a regular chair. I didn't really care about the PDF.

i say we start helping the homless. give them a page of make magazine and some money thats exactly enough for the project, and if they do it they get another project

Better to buy the real thing, lol. Considering he only saved about $20 and doesn't even have near the comfort of the real thing. Most of the "make" stuff is pointless.

@smikules LOL I was thinking that same thing, he kept saying out of a single sheet of plywood but then comes out with needing 2X2 and 1X4's whats up with that lol.

If it had a head rest it would be the best weekend project ever and with a little bit of polishing it could look like a new item on ikea catalogue

This looks really cool, but how sturdy is it? I'd feel a bit nervous if the only thing supporting me was a sheet of plywood! :-D

I'd be more interested in seeing the actual rock back one. This chair is kind of ugly to be honest.
