Oh yes, I lived in an apartment one time and the people next door to me were asian and they cooked full blown Asian food daily. At first, it was nice smelling ... Smelled great but then every single day got to be too much... Ugh.. 😆

Hello, Oppressive Gravy Tarot! 😁 As usual, you hit the nail on the head. I can’t seem to make any progress no matter which way I turn and I have many ideas to consider. Today was the culmination of the week from hell and was one of the worst days I can remember in a long time. I was scheduled to read at the publication party of a review in which I got published this fall, but I didn’t make it. (Thanks to some weird regulations regarding feral cats.) It’s a long story. I always help every animal in need, whether wild or domesticated, but lately I have been “shamed“ for all kinds of things by these strange people who claim that they’re “helping“ people trap and neuter animals in need. This was the sixth woman who was astoundingly unkind to me, and I will never ask for help again in this area. Thank you for giving me some smiles, and again, I never cease to be impressed when you draw the same cards I draw, and then you come to brilliant conclusions that I would never think of. From your mouth to God’s something or other. Or I guess the other way around. 😊 Thank you, Gemma! 💕💕 Puritas. I left that word because I said P. S. into the microphone. What the heck is that? Anyway, I was on the phone today talking with someone when I saw on the news that Maggie Smith had passed away and I immediately started sobbing. I love her performance in A Room With a View, although I have to say she was always brilliant. But then, the British are better at everything. 💖 Although you have to give us credit in the States for giving the rest of the world the kind of brain freeze that comes when you just say, “WHAT?” 😩😢

Im from Aberdeenshire in Scotland and moved to Lancaster in the 90's to go to Art School. I moved into an ancient very tall tenemant with 4 flights of stairs. I took the very top room cause it had a huge oak beam running along it. Unfortunately it leaked worse than a cheese grater and the floor was so wonky anything spherical in shape rolled to the other side of the room, make-up brushes etc. So i lived up in the gods with my little cat Herbie. My flatmates did not like Herbies litter tray, so i kept moving it up a flight of stairs. It was now 3 flights uo. Now being a carefree student and everything prioritising over cleaning said litter tray one weekend it was very full and smelly. That same weekend there seemed to be lots of anxious bangs getting on so i leaned over the rickety banister and shouted "what's going on below" atleast 5 times. Eventually i heard echoing up " the landlord has just pulled up outside" lots of explicit language and chaos. I sprang into action. I bounded down the shared stairway avoiding frantic people to get a plastic bag to put the entire litter tray in and hide it. Well atleast that was my intention but the landlord just walked in!!! In my panic i retraced my steps and bounded 3 at a time back up all those stairs. Unfortunately in my haste, i had only one wobbly flight to go, i stood on the edge of the litter tray and it flipped up with great speed. The litter and erm, well lumps of not nice things catapulted all down the stairs. Literally everywhere they rolled and bumped down those steps. I couldnt believe it, i just stared in silence and thought...oh my ** god! Then i laughed at the ridiculousness of it just as my flatmate came flying up to her room avoiding cat poo but crunching through the chalky stinking litter. She gave me a stare of disbelief and hatred in one as she slammed her door. Woops. Then i peered away doen the banister and saw my landlords head walking up beside another flatmate. I ran to my room, slammed the door and listened intensely. I heard "crunch, crunch, oh good grief, crunch, crunch, what the ?, crunch...is this from that Scottish girl? Crunch.....silence......have i just stood on?....is that what i think it is? She must think she lives in a bl**dy zoo, crunch". I never answerd my door, i pretended i wasnt there although they all knew i was. I was appalled but annoyingly kept laughing silently into my hands. A hiddeous situation. Eventually i appeared from my room and silently tidied it up whilst getting dagger looks from every tenant. I cringe and laugh whenever i think of that 😉

I have a funny story about an apartment building with many stairs, although the stairs don’t really figure in the story. I was spending the summer with my sister (I was 10 and she was 21) and she lived on the top floor (3rd) of a brick apartment building in the city which regularly gets close to or sometimes above 100°F. There was no air-conditioning and my sister didn’t even own a fan. I wasn’t used to the heat and I was just about ready to die, so I remember one Saturday when I kept asking her for $.15 so I could run down the flights of stairs to the lobby and get a bottle of Coke out of the vending machine. The day went on and all of a sudden I started acting very strange and I couldn’t stop moving and I was being really weird and my sister said, “how many Cokes have you drunk?“ I had no idea, so we counted the bottles, and I had drunk 13! I was hopped up on caffeine. 😁 It really didn’t feel good. 😳

@@Gemstonetarot I went there once Gemma and I was really disappointed. It wasn’t at all what I thought it was going to be. The sidewalks and streets were so crowded and everyone was really rude and there were all these people standing in front of the buildings shoving fake Rolex watches in your face trying to sell them to you. And the food in the restaurants was awful, at least the restaurants we could afford. Sadly, I think it might be better in your imagination. Although this was in the 80s, so maybe it’s better now.

Thanks Gemma! I’ve recently been really enjoying watching interviews on a RU-vid channel called the ADHD chatter podcast, and there was one about a month ago with a lovely guy who’s developed a dating app for people who feel like they’re a bit different. His description of it sounded really great and kind of idealistic, in a good way. So far I think they’ve only launched in London, but maybe there are some viewers there who would be interested… The guy’s name is Jamie Johnston, and I think the interview is called the ultimate guide to adhd dating, or something like that, if you or anyone else wants to take a look. Incidentally, there are quite a lot of good interviews on that channel with interesting and amusing people 🤓

Haha, shared spaces - I lived in a shared space on Camden High Street ( and in another one on the same High St, a few yrs later which was fractionally nicer) in the late 90s with my friend and the bathtub was in the kitchen with a flimsy shower curtain and often no hot water. When we did have hot water, it dribbled out of the tap so slowly that you really had to plan your bathtime and hope strangers didn't wander in to make a cuppa. Good times 😂🛁 🫖🤗
