I've not bought a book in at least 13 years, I got my signed copy today and have taken it to bed with me to snuggle down and read❤ your podcast has helped me thru some really shitty years and I love how much success it has brought both you and us G&Divas, 2 very special people who deserve the world. I love how the book is cleverly written so it reads like actually listening to an episode of the podcast the way William and Jordan talk us and also converse with each other, it perfectly conveys their chemistry into written format. I also really appreciate how the first chapter feels like a nod to ‘Help I Was Sick On A First Date’, the sentiment of it makes me smile. I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve read so far.

Hate to correct you but A is the correct beginning of the sub-title of your new book, which is fab btw! You say A when the next word begins in a consonant and AN when the next word begins with a vowel. A hilarious is the correct form. I'm a qualified English teacher so of course I had to correct it! Love you loads xx

2:49 Dear William, Both the Telegraph and the Guardian both advocate using “a hotel, a historian” in their style guides in line with the Oxford Dictionary. We pronounce the H in both words in English.

You use AN if the H is silent and A if it is not. An honour, a hound. If you pronounce ‘hotel’ with a silent H then AN is fine but if you pronounce the H then A is correct. Nothing to do with traditional vs modern English but rather accents and whether those accents pronounce the H or not.

Write a note on a note card and place it inside the the front cover with a paper clip rather than write on the actual book.

William, I am traditional, it might be down to where you are educated. I was educated in Kent. Use AN before H. It annoys me no end when people use an A. 🐨🐨🦘

If the H is silent it is considered a vowel sound so you use AN but if the H is not silent it is a consonant sound so you use A.

Well it’s incorrect because in English we pronounce the H in “hotel” and “historian” for instance. Both the Telegraph and The Guardian both advocate for the use of “a hotel” in their style guides in line with the Oxford Dictionary. So you’re not correct.
