Weekend Update ft. Bowen Yang, Heidi Gardner, Mikey Day and Cecily Strong - SNL 

Cecily's momentary transition from Cathy Anne to herself mid sketch before saying good bye, gave me a squeeze in my stomach and put a friggin tear in my eye... SNL's loss unfortunately... Can't wait to see her work again...

Cecily Strong, a goddamn class act. I'm going to miss her.

Colin took this hard. He couldn't even laugh tonight. She will be missed. One of the all time greats of SNL

Sorry to see Cecily Strong leave, she's a great actor and naturally funny with impeccable timing. Looking forward to what she does next!

2:42. With the exception of the left horn, the S.N.L. makeup team actually did an amazing job at turning Bowen into Krampus. I feel like they're not appreciated enough for the full body suits & costumes since most of the time they are just for 1 sketch & never used again.

The wink she gave Colin when she showed their pic is adorable. That's why he took it so hard.

I know that the focus of this night was Cecily's exit, but we would be remiss if we didn't acknowledge the absolute trooper that Mikey Day is in not absolutely breaking down when Heidi started groping him. The fact they both held it together so well is astonishing.

Bowan is really just bringing it these days - Kudos to him! and Cecily what a LEGEND!

This is emotional! Cecily has been one of my favorite s. She is so talented and her characters and impressions are hilarious. I will miss her. ☹️

Thanks for continuing to upload Weekend Update in it’s entirety on Monday Mornings. The comedy flows more easily. Cecily Strong and her talents will be greatly missed.

I thought Colin looked downtrodden at the beginning of weekend update. He's usually pretty unflappable. But now it makes sense, I think he was really sad 😢

12:06. I honestly didn't know this was going to be Cecily's last episode of S.N.L. going in until this segment. I thought after having so many cast members left after last Season ended but Cecily didn't meant she was staying for all of this Season.

At 14:50 when Cecily transitions out of character for a sec, I started crying. She was the absolute GOAT for me. We'll miss you so much, Cecily Strong!

This episode REALLY resonated with me … Bowen Yang is Hilarious. I am going to watch this several times and then more. Krampus is my new obsession 😂😂😂

Cecily Strong was so good, so consistent, a pro's pro. I'll miss her on this show. The end kind of got me too. Colin only signed off as an afterthought. He just wanted to say goodbye to his friend.

1. Using the newscaster falling while stomping grapes for the broken spine whale song was genius. 2. Cathy Anne is probably my favorite SNL character of all time. I will miss her and the excellence Cecily has brought for 7 years. 3. You will forever be missed, Cecily. Never forget what Michelle Robama says: "When they go low, I get high."

Poor Colin. He was pretty upset about her leaving. She was like a big sister to him all these years. We'll all miss Cecily on SNL!!! ❤

Bowen owns that Krampus bit and damnit, make-up did some owning there as well, even if the horn kame off (still looked like a pretty damned solid one-horned character by the way). Heidi better be bringing aunt Pat back as often as she wants to, if she wants to, and she can bring her butler too. They both just nailed that bit so perfectly. Cecily's Kathy Ann.... damnit, I'll be missing that one.... and her Pirro, and her other SNL stuff....

She was forced to do the breaststroke with her pectoral fins, while dragging her immobile S shaped tail. Moon arrived completely emaciated with an excessive load of whale lice. Which is why researchers believe she won't be able to make it back. Vessel strikes continue to pose a real and imminent threat to all whale populations. The strikes are often underreported or even unnoticed. When it comes to the North Atlantic Right whale, who are already on the endangered species list. These strike's are stopping any chance for recovery of the specie's as a whole. I've lived over 50 years in constant pain from a broken spine. While it sucks, I want every moment of life I can get. Of course she made the journey. Any life when facing death, will fight with everything they have to keep breathing that next breath. "Experts" who claim she won't make it back don't realize, for her, there are no options.

I put this on my Facebook newfeed the day after I saw this. Cecily Strong stole my heart a long time ago. She's beautiful and funny. And can sing beautifully. I didn't know how talented you have to be to be on SNL. I started watching SNL in the 70's when Garret Moore was on the cast, and he had a great singing voice too. I knew that her departure was real when she her voice changed after talking about going to "jail". I too felt a little sad, because I will miss her, but I know that she will do great wherever she goes.

7:02. Anyone else get the feeling that most of what Heidi (as well as Mikey) did during this segment Colin wasn't told ahead of time about it? His reactions seemed like genuine surprise & confusion.

It felt like Cecily had been in a lot of openers and had more than her share of 'Live from New York' lines which made me wonder if she had already announced she was leaving. She's a gem and she'll be missed.

Dang, Bowen is a pro for rolling with that. Sad to see Cecily leaving.

8:52 when Mikey starts to lean away and then suddenly presses forward for a moment more was great, but then 09:59 Heidi won't led him leave until she's reached enough he has to lean back.... slayed me. Bowen did his bet bit on Weekend update (my opinion), and Cecily broke my heart but good for her. Moving on to good things. But yeah... no. missed her the moment she threw up her "friends in jail " pic... anywho... and the ending of the show with the Song tribute was lovely.
