She's "tenured". At SNL the veteran cast members can pull $20-25k per episode. She does well. (Assuming it's equal across genders, I think it's fair compensation). She is not just a cast member, she also writes some sketches too. With her comedic chops, she can go very far if she leaves SNL.

This is my primary reason for being pro choice even though as someone who wanted kids and never had them, the idea of an abortion is an anathema to me(that is in no way a condemnation of women that have them). That and the millions of horror stories about what happens to unwanted children, and the millions of stories of the way childbirth fucks up women's bodies and heads.

I guess the government is forcing men and woman to have informed, consensual sex too, huh?

@@charliecinnella9090 even the pill is not 100% effective--what's the alternative, never be with anyone in your life? people need to be able to choose if they want to start a family--and be able to love their partner without fear of a birth control failure. Abortion should be a last resort, but still needs to be available because while the government knows it can't stop people from having sex, it wants to regulate the results. I'm supporting the choice, though I don't like abortion and think it's a tough decision for anyone to make. but there are situations, often just as tough, where having a baby is not feasible. not trying to be antagonizing, just supportive to women speaking up. it's a topic that calls up so many strong emotions from various points of view. people are entitled to disagree and I respect that.

I think the biggest issue is that women should be able to make these decisions without outsiders damn opinions getting in the way.

Then a person like Cecily comes along and makes it amazing and poignant and funny and heartbreaking all at the same time, reinforcing the truth again.
