I’m not forcing my kids out my house for the sake of teaching them a lesson, or because I left my parents house at 18. It doesn’t mean that they won’t have guidelines, but if I can shield them from drowning in debt, an opportunity to buy their own home when they leave mine, and teach them financial responsibility in a way that I did not have, I’m going to do that. Life is hard enough as black men and women, and I will not make it harder where they should feel protected and peace. I understand that many people won’t agree, and that’s okay. However, I’m building generational wealth, and working hard now, so my children don’t have to work or endure as much as I did. Dax, I agree! My son is 14, and we’ve had this discussion on several occasions. I refuse to have him learn the hard way. He’s been taught things at 14 that I did not learn until I was in my late 20s. I will be there to not only push him but to cushion his fall.

This was one of my favorite family or fiance episodes yet. I do wish that the mom would've apologized to her sons too along with David for the way she seemingly let David come in and take over her household. I just don't think it was just David who owed them an apology cuz even with the removing the doors situation, we found out that the mom agreed to it but it came across to the kids as if he just did it on his own.
