Thank you for including the Way of Edan in your reading plans for next month, Chance! It's cool that you're tackling several self-published fantasies, and I wish you the best for all your reads. Also, you're so right about Malazan characters -- you never know how you'll end up feeling about them. Finally, I wish you the best for your writing as you hear back from your alpha readers!
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy I am not worthy!!! Thank you Doc (if I can call you that). I’m grateful you took the time to come and check this out. I’m very excited to get myself immersed into the world you created.
Some very cool reads. I love the Berserk influences in Sun Eater!! Have you read Between Two Fires by Christopher Beuhlman? It’s a medieval horror novel that’s like Berserk mixed with the Witcher with a Catholic coat of paint. It’s excellent and I think you’d enjoy it!!
@@iSamwise it’s on the radar! I have debated starting there with beuhlman or starting with his new series instead. The standalone will probably suit me better with my current reads-but I’ve heard good things about his writing
@@SenneW of course! Happy you came to hang out. I figure sharing my taste is a good way to give people an idea of what to expect! But I’m always willing to venture beyond
Love to hear you are enjoying Empire of the Vampire so far, Kristoff is one of my favourites! And excited to hear more about The Failures as you go, I am super intrigued by that book. My highlight of last week was Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle, which is now one of my new favourite horror books! And I also started the show of The Last of Us (I know, late to the party), which I am devouring!! Congrats on the good progress with you writing, keep rocking on!
@@esmayrosalyne I am almost pulling the trigger on buying the last of us jacket 😂😂 I’m a sucker. Bury Your Gays is on the radar! Second horror recommendation for me. As we get into spooky season, I feel I must at least begin. I saw Mike books reviews read Blackwater-is that something you have read and recommend? Andrew’s wizardly has just put me on 20th century ghosts.. just so many dang good books out there
@@Chance.Dillon Look, I am gonna be an enabler and just say DO IT for that jacket hahahah Hope you enjoy Bury Your Gays if you try it. If you like audio, I would recommend getting that because it has some sections with sound effects and cameos from plenty of popular queer authors narrating a bit, I loved it! Blackwater is not something that sounds like it would be in my wheelhouse, but I was really intrigued by what Mike said about it!
@@esmayrosalyne okay okay fantastic. I do enjoy a good audio read every once in a while so I will have to throw it up on the radar under a good audio read!
Great video dude! Love Berserk! Failures is so cool, I read a good chunk before i had to set it aside for some other time sensitive reads and am excited to pick it back up. Empire of the Vampire is so good, cant wait to hear your thoughts when you finish. Reading the sequel currently. Keep up the great work brother, congrats on 500!!!
@@TheBeardedBookBeast THE bearded book beast?! Heck yes. Yes EoV is so darn unique to anything I’ve ever read. So I’m really excited to continue it. The failures is also reminiscent to book of the new sun to me-easier to comprehend-but just as addicting as far as the clear mysterious narrative drive
@@TheBeardedBookBeast book of the new sun is definitely an entirely different experience-that said, the weaving of the overarching plot is comparable. I’d be stoked to hear your thoughts after reading both
Congrats on meeting your writing goals. It sounds like you're making solid progress. And isn't it so satisfying to get to one of those scenes that have been in you head for years? I'm sure you'll kill it. As far as recommends, I have a few short and fast reads for you or anyone reading this comment. As I mentioned before, I really like Glen Cook's Garret P. I. series but that goes here too, along with Steven Brust Vlad Taltos Series (audiobook narrator is great) and Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan Saga starting with the first Miles book. For a little longer read I recommend of a more recently written series that I really enjoyed The Dungeon Crawler Carl series (Audiobook is next level great). And it is a good starting place if you're curious about LitRPG at all. Thanks for reading. Have a great day.
@@aarononeill8644 thank you so much! Yes the Garrett PI is on the radar- thank you for throwing those other ones down there. DCC has also sounded so appealing to me-I wanted Bastion to be my intro into that sub genre but I feel with how fast and how much praise DCC gets that I should get into it sooner. Thanks again for coming to hang out!
So happy you're enjoying Berserk and Malazan this much! I really need to get into the Empire of the Vampire. And congrats on the writing progress, moving forward!
glad you're enjoying berserk! i love that series! I haven't watched all your videos, but have you read the night angel series by Brent Weeks? I'm in the middle of the second one and the first was amazing! the beginning is heavy and really really dark so I'd probably look up warning tags first.
@@boywonder7348 I have not read Night Angel! It’s ones that comes up and when I see it, I’m like “darn I should really read that one.” I have yet to get to any Weeks but I plan to sometime next year. Do you recommend that over his other series??
@@AndrewsWizardlyReads after recording this I got to a pretty sick part with trull in it-it still hasn’t tied into HoC yet-but I feel on a reread of HoC just from the first third of Midnight Tides, I’d get a few OHhHhHhHh moments. But I don’t believe it’s spoilers since I still really don’t know fully what’s happening
Hi do you have any social medias other than YT?? Instagram maybe? Also I’m boutta binge the hell out of ur videos I desperately need something new to read 😮💨
@@AndrewsWizardlyReads it’s on my radar now! It being a bunch of short fiction is really appealing-something I can tie into a “light read” Though after this excerpt “(Francis was human once, but now he's an eight-foot-tall locust, and everyone in Calliphora will tremble when they hear him sing. . . .)” I don’t exactly know how ‘light’ it will be
@@AndrewsWizardlyReads okay I’ll take it-I found I really enjoyed the “horror” aspects of the book of the new Sun. It is a genre I don’t typically go toward-that said I think it’s about time I start. And a collection is probably the perfect way to do it
@@coreyledin-bristol7068 I’m gonna have to come back to this comment post developmental edits! I’d love to send you a copy of it to get some notes and thoughts.

@@Chance.Dillon envy your ability for free style but it wouldn’t be a good show unless it’s a conversation podcast or someone who is very skilled at editing. It’s called the rhythm just my opinion tho
@@booker3459 appreciate it man! In my 30 years I tend to flow better on my own. It’s not always perfect but it is always me. Thanks for coming and hanging out
