Great to see Ryan happy with his race. Cilantro is an herb, the leaves of the coriander plant, used is Mexican, Asian, Indian, South American cuisines. Always in guacamole.

I would have cried too if I was told my baby needed to wear glasses for the rest of his life, but he certainly rocks his glasses. Seth is such a good looking young man, mini me of Ryan!! Hi Fern! My late Dad was an Optician here in California. Look up The Bates Method. There are many YT videos. These are eye exercises that strengthen the eye muscles & really helps a lot of people. Seth is so sweet. Great video & congratulations to Ryan! ~~God Bless

Garden tip- white gravel is high maintenance. If you have soil/compost instead, the small leaves can be left to decompose and will enrich the soil as they break down.

My son has bad eyes and we got him contacts at about age 13. He was a little scared taking them out and putting back in, but he got the hang of it pretty quickly. It helped that his older sister had them also (as do I!) To assist him. But I think Seth looks great in his glasses.

Watching with my coffee this morning and hubs noticed and said "who are these people?" Took time to explain that you guys are just a sweet family with a couple of kids doing the very same things we did when we were a young family with our kids. It's fun for me to watch you as I dearly miss those days when the kids were small - all grown up now ages 33 - 49. So happy for Ryan's great day - way to go! ... hope you're feeling better, Fern. I do not miss having to deal with "those" days.

Cilantro and Coriander are the same herb. It’s is essential. That’s the important flavor. But one can do without it. But with it 😀 WOW.

If you want your hydrangea to keep it's blue colour it will help to stick some rusty nails in the ground around it. Otherwise there is a chance it will turn pink (depending on the soil). Also, a Hortensia is the name we use in the Netherlands for a hydrangea. :)

Yes Fern I avoid driving in Nice too (and I live there🤔) actually got a bit worried when I realized where you were, so well done, you got there!! And on Iron Man day I popped down to the seafront, vaguely looking out for you but I was up the west end, too crowded the other end, bravo bravo Ryan! Brilliant achievement even with the lost goggles😂…. Fern, in case you didn’t know, in France you get an appointment with an ophthalmologist (for example at Lenval children’s hospital on the Promenade (parking underground). Then you go to the opticians with the prescription. Just in case that’s any help. I love Ryan’s branch, but give it time, you never know! 🤞🏻

I'm not such a big fan of cilantro, taste like soap to me. Take a small nibble at the store before you buy it. Some people love it and some people hate it. I always substitute it with Italian flat parsley. Love the vlogs. Congratulations on the race. Seth is super cute no matter what. The garden is looking good! Best from USA

I just love your garden. My favorite place is where you planted the hydrangea and there are hedges and arches. So-o-o-o beautiful. It was good to see Ryan happy.

The branch needs to be pruned (cut off), otherwise the energy from the tree (bush) will keep trying to go to the dead branch making it harder for the rest of the plant to survive

Who is the young boy in the beginning

Good afternoon! Wonderful excitement @ Nice Half Ironman Event.(which begs the question what half ? What does a total race look like? I'm guessing it must be regarding distance but don't know! Honestly don't know much about Iron man stuff. Do know a fair bit about herbs. 'Coriander' is the SAME herb plant as 'Cilantro' and also the same herb as 'Chinese Parsley'. The three are the same plant. And here is a little known fact - in the center of an old - fashioned black colored jawbreaker candy is found a coriander seed. In other words, it depends on whether your following a recipe from the Orient, or Mexico or India. It is the type of flavor that is so distinct the response is not neutral but visceral, for most pallets. It can be cultivated, however, because it's very healthy.) Finally, nice parking in Nice !! It's so wonderful to see Ryan happy about his race. Great looking food quickly on the patio! The birthday chat with Nancy is so cute - you're both so funny!! Does she count down to Christmas? Regarding the broken apricots limb in the garden, I am inclined to agree completely with you in your analysis of removing it now. The roots are there ready to reinvent itself! In the front garden here there is a young English walnut tree. For the first 3 years it was growing beautifully. And then the fourth spring it barely survived. There was one strong limb that survived and was alive. So I removed most of the dominant upper limbs. It was severely deformed. A distinct disappointment for me. It did spring up from the ground many new branches but never to the height of the one existing original. This spring, did some strategic pruning to balance the growth. And allow the summer growth from the previous year to have free access to grow up to match 'the loner branch '. In my photos , if possible, it will revisit a week. So the difference in this tree a year ago is almost humorous. A lady in the neighborhood who walks her 🐕 Dexter said to her neighbor, a friend of mine, about that huge tree that now exists in our front garden, "was that always there? Why didn't I notice it before?". I have Tracy's email I sent her both photos. Ironically, and perfectly the sprinkler closest to that tree has a head that doesn't work. It was to be replaced. However, when it was going to be fixed the fellow who was going to do it got badly stung by a horrible wasp when he went to test the system. In the well that housed the system was a wasp nest. So the sprinkler head never got fixed but puddles right in the root system of the tree. It's like a fountain in the middle of some ground cover. Which washes back and creates a pond by the walnut tree. I had tapped in some fertilizer spikes. The combination created the result of this immense tree. To deeply prune , water and fertilize is a cure in my experience. It's hard to overwater a spring garden! I must leave this but I want to say more so I will come back a little bit later and let this leave the building! Toodles for now...

I'm afraid that branch needs chopping off, oh and hydrangeas like alot of water, keep watering and they'll bloom like crazy next summer. Funny I can't imagine seth without his glasses, you don't see them when you're older, only a lovely little chap, but if he's asking about contacts then it's troubling him. Making guacamole is easy, finely cut tomatoes,cilantro, jalapeño ( take the seeds out) if not use to spice use half,onion. The lemon juice helps from turning brown, but if you put the pit back in the serving dish it also helps. I truly enjoy your videos. I’m glad Ryan was so happy, well done. ☺️

Always love seeing you all get out and about and to support Ryan in his sporting endeavours. Congratulations to him for getting through the Bike Ride/Run. As for your garden I always like to see where you put new plants. If the Hydrangias look stressed make sure they get plenty of water and you could put some bark chips down to keep some of the heat from the roots of the plants. If you cut the dead branch off the tree will thicken up quite quickly. If you want your Roses to flower for longer cut off any dead/finished flowers that should help to promote new flowers.
