Good morning! I love your design ideas! You didn’t find them in the books because it’s your original idea for your own book someday. 😊 Also, I love sun patients too. I have been using them for years. I adopted your idea with the Lillie’s , but with begonia tubers and strategically placed them in bare spots. So pretty. Mic was great, garden is amazing, grace seems so happy but Martha Miller…..wow! What an awesome tribute to your garden guru. Thank you for all you do for our you-tube community.
Hope you are enjoying the fall like weather this week !! For the pathways idea I like the use of gravel. grass is very hared to keep nice. esp with a dog too. Years ago I created a Martha garden, a copy of Martha stewarts perennial garden from turkey hill house, so I have lots of pathways threw the gardens, all edged in bricks, and must say all the pathways take long time to trim, sadly I used to do it with scissors LOL now I use a weed wacker must faster now, but wish I did gravel instead myself. but in the fall and winter I do like to see the green grass , its great garden form. just if you do the gravel in your pathways, I def think its a good idea to put down a weed fabric down first. will save you time !! Please show the building/tearing apart process with us. I have just moved and have a blank slate to start my new gardens. It’s a bit over whelming for me, but I have been so inspired watching your videos that I cannot wait to get started.
Everything is so beautiful, your garden has merged to more of a formal garden lok than the cottage cutting garden look which is what I personally enjoy more. But it is lovely and looks similar to the glimpse I saw of your Eden garden book.

Would you be so kind to please tell me what you have planted at 3:51, front of the sun patient, right of the Lamb's Ear, and on the way toward the beautiful girl statue. It appears to be a dark red coleus, perhaps or is it a perennial? I appreciate your assistance and love all that you do!! Blessings to you and your's!!
Thanks Danielle - great video !!! Ive been pouring over youdr videos since the spring and I've started to make my own 'garden walk' areas too, at the back of our property. Youe given me so much inspiration and its definately added a lot of weekend happiness and labour of love; to my days off. About 2 weeks ago a bought 3 lime light H's, 5 rugosa rose bushes, a ninebark bush, 3 yellow peonies, 3 pink cone flowers, 3 pink foxgloves, 2 new to me hosta's oh a nd 3 lime light punch smaller H's. Its been a lot of fun trying to think about placement and future plans.................and its so wonderdful spending so much more time outside. P.S. I live in zone 5b - Warsaw, Ontario, Canada 🍁🍁🍁😃
The plans you drew out extending the stone patio and gravel sitting area along with the hew hedges and hydrangeas is going to be perfect in that space. You already have so many beautiful garden rooms around your home. This area in front of the library will bring you so much joy to have a space nearby the library to enjoy the peacefulness you have created.
You bring so much calm into my being. That's the beauty of your nature. Have not seen inside the shed in the distance, if you've introduced it to your viewers. Very cottage-like. A garden is always a work in progress but the process is always rewarding as we tour and admire what it has become.
Danielle, I think I’m doing something wrong. I put my amaryllis outdoors in there pots this spring. I did the same thing last year and the leaves soaked up the sun and wilted. I was able to but them in the dark and had beautiful blooms in the winter. So I did the same thing this year. They are continuing to bloom and are not wilting! Though they are beautiful, I don’t know how to get them to sleep.
Beautiful garden and I am envious of how well your smooth hydrangeas grow! I can see your plan in my mind's eye and I think it will be amazing. I hope that your Grandma is watching you as you continue her love of gardening, how proud she would be!
We're in zone 6a, but we've been leaving dahlias in the ground on the south side of our house. Like Sarah Raven, we cover them with 6 inches of dried leaves and they did great. They are 4 feet tall and filled with blooms. I heard of another flower farmer in Idaho--same zone as me--who grows hundreds of dahlias and does the same method and she has no problem. I think trying the begonias that way would be a great experiment!

Love Sun Patients,have been using them for years. ,I am a big fan Hendi studio,the fountain is gorgeous. ,love the Dahlias. We have hot dry summer,2 months,no rain ,but thankfully we got some last night. The new garden will be WONDERFUL 🍃🌿

Wow Danielle your Daliahs are so pretty. Love growing them from seed never know what you get. My front yard is recovering from the 80 mph storm last Tuesday. The squirrels ripped the sunflower that self sown. My Amaryllis leaves grew so thick I did not have to steak the leaves. I just planted the bulbs in middle of May
For the last few years I have continued to grow sun patiens ~ they are full and gorgeous, with continuous blooms all summer, as long as you keep them watered. They are an absolute MUST in my garden!
Thanks for the closer look at the fountain! I have been growing inpatients this year and loving them. They look so lush in a challenging mix of sun/shade near my porch. They do seem to need a lot of water though!

The gardens are beautiful as usual! BUT I LOVE THE NEW BOOK NOOK IDEA!!! I can't wait to see the transformation! I hope you will show us all the steps :) Thanks for sharing, Kim (PS I am the one who has said about a half a dozen times that the box in front of the door would cause havoc for me and suggested it be moved :) LOL but am so happy to hear that ALL of the boxes are being moved and a Book Nook is being "built")
I agree with you on how wonderful the Sunpatiens are! 😍I’m growing the fuchsia color in a part sun location. They have stole the show along with the caladium. They love the hot humid wet weather we’re getting in NJ. I can’t say the same for the zinnias. Powdery mildew just took over the zinnias as expected with this weather ☹️
Your plans are so imaginative and everything looks really good. I love what's happening in the driveway garden. Don't forget to keep adding winter interest there (dwarf spruces with fairy lights?) 💚

I love everything you do and I watch everything I can from you. I love your style, youve taught me about cool flowers but you say all this color when I see all the white and a little red, the saving grace ok. But at any point its not a large bouquet of colors? Im a person who likes to see a wide variety of colors. Still love your work and im also in 6b. Northern Kentucky.
Your plans are wonderful, Danielle! I can't wait to see them take shape. I love, love, Liriope! I have variegated Liriope in my garden in several beds, which creates continuity. They are so easy to grow and have a wispy look that is fun and blends well with most plants. I plan on doing some divisions this year too. I'm also looking for a fountain. You inspired me! I'd like to find a solar fountain, but there are limited selections to choose from. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Sun Impatients are dependable performers. I put them in the two HOA entrance beds in an orange-red shade with wavy petals. One bed gets morning sun, the other afternoon sun. They were slow to get going. I planted them early and I think they prefer the heat.
I love sunpatiens...however they take so much water here in Oklahoma. They are beautiful and make such a statement in your garden! I have planted them in the past and after seeing yours I want to add them back next year.
I’ve been thinking about using boxwood as a hedge around a couple of beds, just to contain what can otherwise look pretty wild and to maybe eventually help to make things more difficult for the deer. They eat everything, liriope included. Ever tried propagating boxwood? I’ve been trying to grow more shrubs from cuttings.
Hi Danielle, Your garden is so pretty! I live in Houston, Texas and the Euphorbia is invasive in my yard! I can't get rid of it, I pull it out all the time. Be careful with it.
Would you mind updating your living fence, please? We are highly considering buying some too. Do you think they'd survive in a deep planter.? We ave a huge rock outcrop at our property line we need privacy planting and wood fencing is too expensive and will blow down in our stormy winters in 8B-WWA.
Any chance you spotted Hydrangea arborescens Pinky Pollen Ring? I am wondering if it is actually as advertised - pollinator magnet but with striking pink lace caps. Thanks
Your garden is beautiful as ever, and I can't wait to see your new plans come to life! Is there a yew that isn't highly poisonous? I pulled out my hicks yew and bagged it up bc I was worried about an animal eating it. Did I overreact? Maybe it's not as threatening as I feared.
I had heard liriope is invasive. I know you said it was a gift from a friend, but do you know which variety this may be? Would you describe it as overly aggressive? I already have out of control myrtle in my yard and don't want anything else that behaves at all like it, but liriope, if it behaves, could solve a number of problems for me in my garden. I love how you have it lining your driveway.
I planted a pinky winky and told my hubby the spot and he said no put over here and I told him it gets 6-8 ft tall and wide well he didn’t believe me since it was so small and now he we are 3 years later and it’s huge and in the wrong spot so this fall I need to move it, he’s since learned I know more than him lol!
