Heinz bought out Golden Circle in 2008. In 2011 they stopped canning beetroot, and moved production to New Zealand. Last year cyclone Gabrielle wiped out their growing region. So as a result of moving offshore, Australia now has almost no canned beetroot. I hope lessons are learned, (but I doubt it). Three Threes an Aust. company does can beetroot, but in limited quantities. So if you see Three Threes canned foods and pickles, please buy them to support an Australian company.

My mum always put parsnips in our vegetable soups, so did my grandmother. I agree they are delicious baked or air fried with some salt and pepper. My mouth is watering now! Great haul. I struggle to buy food for 1 person working a rotating 12hr shift roster from week to week - sometimes I'm over $150 for the week and I lack motivation to use the food properly. Anyway, great video!

Yes, Parsnips go back along way in my family too. Yes, everything has to be prepared and cooked, I think a lot of us lack motivation in cooking nowadays with the price of food.

Hi Dominique. Great haul and thank you for sharing. I did a top up shop. 10 items for $100. I couldn't believe it. Hope you and your family are feeling better ❤.

Now a top up shop is nearly as expensive as the big shop. 10 items isn't much for $100. Thank you, I am on the mend but the colds around at the moment are hard to get over,

I didn't have them when i was growing up but I love parsnip now..also swede and to a lesser extent turnip. I agree about grocery prices.. it's a disappointing number of bags for the amount spent. All we can do is shop smart..as you do.

It can be very disappointing when you count the shopping bags.

You should try doing your parsnips in the oven or air fryer or something on it. Oh my god they are delicious your kids would love them. Yes I grew up with parsnip Swede turnip the whole lot that parsnips chips are the best to make it

Groceries are out of control right now. You mentioned Aldi a couple of times - do you or anyone in the comments recommend that still? I heard the price difference wasn’t too significant any more but maybe that’s not right. I wish they did click and collect!

I think Aldi will always stay that little bit cheaper than other shops but it's still expensive anywhere you shop. I agree, I wish they did click and collect to.
