I loved the variety in everything you read! I wrote down several titles for future reading. So glad that you loved Uncle Silas! It really is a hidden gem. The ending of it is absolutely thrilling.

Hi Mitzi, yes we want a book review! Now I have to read Uncle Silas! For Victober I already read Frankenstein and enjoyed it, and I also finished The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte and loved it. I think I liked it as well or maybe more than Jane Eyre! It was great. Now I started Dr. Thorne by Trollope, the one after the one you are on. Thank you so much for the new (old) books to look for! ❤❤❤😊😊😊

The "y'all" thing made me smile knowingly. We (in Newfoundland) get all sorts of language things like that, too. Interestingly, there are some similarities between your English and ours. We don't say "y'all", but "bless her heart (among other things)" is a common phrase.

I finished Udolpho early, so I started Uncle Silas today because you liked it so much. It’ll be another one to mark of my gothic list. It is hard to put down! It’s more suspenseful to me than Udolpho. That religion kind of sounds like New Thought and Occult…now that I think of it, this sounds like Bethel after looking it up. I’m to the chapter where she first meets Uncle Silas. Sick in bed today and this is helping me detach my mind from pain. Thanks for your review.

I put the one about the nursing home on my TBR. Can’t wait. I also put Uncle Silas on there but I’m not sure about that one. Would you say it’s accessible? I don’t care for books heavy on prose. If the author can provide atmosphere without long paragraphs I’m for it. I like that it is in first person.

Give Uncle Silas a try. It reads a lot more fast paced than most Victorian.

We definitely want a review!!! You could just time stamp (it is super easy, you need to write the time in the description and RU-vid will do the rest) or announce: from now on it comes to the spoilers, and everything will be fine. About that Kira Kira, I also dislike when authors don't do research and fall into stereotypes in language or customs. Regarding the day from the new videos, I think that Monday or Tuesday could be a great option since most RU-vidrs upload on weekends it is like so many things to watch!!! and then the rest of the week nothing 🤷‍♀
@mitzireadsandwrites

Oh, thanks for the posting tip. I have no idea how any of this works! 😂And great idea about the review. I always worry I'll ruin someone's reading experience with spoilers, so I'll just make sure to warn ahead.

You had a great reading week. I am totally with you about your thoughts about taking the Lords name in vane in books - it is a big no no for me. Out to Pasture sounds a great fun read. I have an Anthony Trollope on my bookshelf but haven't picked it up yet. The Karen Witemeyer sounds beautiful, I have never heard of this author. Yeah, another Jane Eyre lover. Finished reading The Cinnamon Bub Book Store by Laurie Gilmore this afternoon. Quite spicy but did enjoy the book. Going to start reading Wrapped up in Christmas Love by Janice Lynn this evening - have read 2 out of the 4 books in the series and loved them.

I’m also very offended when the Lord’s name is taken in vain!! I have given away a lot of books and quit reading many this year that did that. I’m from Tennessee and my mom is from the Deep South up in the Appalachian mountains. I also am really picky about Southern colloquialisms being used in the right context!! Loved this video!!

Saturday is A great day for your weekly reviews. Saturday's are ALWAYS boring for me, I love your channel, so that would be great!😊 I CANNOT believe Caldecott Medal book would have The LORD'S name taken in vain!!!😑😑 I hate when that is in a book. I don't like filthy, foul language in bks either. It doesn't enhance anything, just shows the writer's ignorance I have a copy of Kiera, Kiera I bought at a used book sale because it WAS a Caldecott Medal bk. Haven't read it yet, but think I will trash it. Doesn't sound like a good story. I want to read Uncle Silas! Never heard of it. I am presently finishing up Jane Eyre (about 100 pgs. left). This is A re-read from h.s. I did not appreciate it then I have been devouring it. I have SO MANY flags and markings, specifically so that I can go back and read certain portions again and again; like you mentioned. I don't know when I will get to Uncle Silas, but would like a book review. I already have books picked out for November. Then again...😊 Thank you Mitzi!! Have a Blessed Lord's Day, and Bless Your Heart! HA! 🤗
