Hey Maya! I guess it's different state to state on piercing aftercare but here's some recommendations from experience and what my piercers told me at my appointments ( I got both my top and bottom naval pierced). They told me not to wear high wasted anything, not to fiddle with it or take it out during the healing process (with surface piercings being an open wound and all), especially not to sleep on my stomach, to clean it 2-3x a day, and on average it takes a year to a year and a half to fully heal. Also with the bump, I was recommended tea tree oil and getting a stronger cleaning spray like Bactine Spray. I as well got my bottom one repierced after taking out the first attempt and ran into similar problems with thinking it was infected/rejecting. After some research I found out a piercing can do that if an old one is still healing so in a way it's transferring to the new healing piercing to fully heal itself (hope that made sense). You probably allergic to the jewelry or they didn’t clean it right .. I got mine done it’s healed and about to be a year. It never happened to me but if I was you I’ll take it out til it’s gone and get another jewelry.
