I always keep braids a minimum of 4 weeks🤣😱😭 I do however have past experiences where I should have chosen my hair over the money spent. Cause in those instances I always thought about the pain I had already endured from being pulled and the money spent (mainly in my uni days) too that I just keep them in and ignore the red flag. Luckily this has not happened recently, I've been happy with my braids...
Happy New Year! I had my hair braided the day before a trip to Kenya from Canada. It was so tight and painful that I took out all the braids three hours after the braiding was completed. My scalp hurt for the full first week of my trip - imagine if I had left in the braids longer!
Your artwork is insanely gorgeous!! I also love your new desk. When you were at the market I was screaming at my IPad, “Don’t you dare leave that desk!!!”😂😂😂
Great vlog, love the pieces you bought. They do sell Prime in the UK, especially London, you just have to know where to buy it. It’s an overrated drink though in my opinion.
I agree. We would never haggle a furniture store overseas but our own people that work hard to create handmade items we haggle knowing how tough things are in Nigeria or any other African country. That’s why I stopped negotiating prices when I’m at home, it just doesn’t feel right cause I’d rather give an African person my money. Kinda sad if you think about it.
I had really small passion twists over my microlocs last year and they were so heavy I couldn't even sleep properly. I could feel my front hair pulling and my thinner locs getting weaker, so I just had to cut them and lose them after 3 weeks. I'm surprised I lasted that long😭.
I feel very similar about negotiating outside of the US. We don’t say a word about the prices in the US but go to certain countries and give them pennies for the same items. I don’t like it. 😕
It’s a hard to find the balance bc there is an expectation that you will negotiate here so the first price is never the real price lol. I could tell by some of the sellers reactions that I overpaid for a few of my items but I didn’t mind personally.
Love the pieces you got from the market😍😍.Thanks for showing us glimpses of Lagos, its been great. The supermarket not putting up the real prices would have annoyed me,not going to lie.Have a great week.
These vlogs are making me want to visit Nigeria this year! I doubt ill be able to do it this year, but next year December might be fine! Yeah, i had a feeling you'd have issues with the braids. You live and you learn 😊
Lost myself in half an hour of your blog whilst I did a 5k row, cooking dinner during the last half - so thank you! Prime available here, had it in Aldi for £1.99 recently, which is funny considering what people were willing to pay when it first came out. Think it might just be restricted to over 16’s because of the caffeine x
I love the standing vase with plants! I recently got back from Accra and the arts centre is nice but we don’t have products like that on sale. And we also have the same issue with Ubers😅 transport is definitely one of the biggest issues when I go back
