That’s scary! You guys be careful. My last week in professional school in Houston, I had a weird profiling incident in Galveston that was so unsettling that I left after graduation went to DC and never returned. Not that it couldn’t have happened any where else , but it didn’t! It left me shook and was never the same. And frankly you guys , I think the Houston area is more user friendly for us than the metroplex. Happy Anniversary!

I had a situation like that in some apartments I lived in before I got married. To be honest I had never witnessed domestic violence first hand so I was petrified and didn’t know what to do. They were literally the apartment next to me like I could hear them while I was in bed. In the first instance I didn’t call the police, I feel like there are so many things people tell you to do or not to do. Like oh if you call the police it’ll only make it worse for the person being abused. Plus I lived on my own at the time and didn’t want them to see me and then they be tryna harm me. The next instance I was already gone to work super early but my husband had stayed the night and he heard them. Somebody called the police though.

Time flies...Happy Anniversary -💛 Corn bread is sweet if you add MORE sugar than what it calls for Neiicey. I know because my mom is from the South and she made cornbread a lot of times... Homemade. If you buy a brand like Jiffy, and it's sweet, it is because they added extra sugar to it. It all depends on where you buy it, or which restaurant you go to. I think we as women dress accordingly to who and what we want to attract..I would say more, but I don't want to make you mad because that is your friend - Peace.

The concierge should have done a better job with doing their due diligence regarding where the commotion was coming from before calling the police. The officers should have also knocked on the apartments next to yours, above and below. Why was it believed that the noises heard was coming from your apartment? They could’ve done the most basic to find the apartment. Especially with this climate as it has always pertained to black folk and the police

I very much am aware of the law hence why I said what I said. The front desk had already contacted their apartment once before. It does not sound like the front desk did a quick round of the building or floor to pin point what was reported before call law enforcement.
