I think romanticising your past self is so normal! Our brains might even block out the bad stuff so you mostly remember the good stuff too

totally understand romanticizing the past. I realised that one day when I'm in my 80s I'm gonna look back and wish I felt confident and beautiful in my young body while I have it, that really helped me stop romanticizing the past and enjoy the present body I have :)

Totally understand what you’re talking about, just remember, it’s kind of like a toxic ex-boyfriend! After some time you start to remember only the good things and none of the bad, looked back at pictures together, and think you were so happy, and it makes you second guess why you broke up with him even though in the moment you knew that it was what was best for you and you weren’t happy, and you would be better off without him! But it’s so much easier to remember the good and the bad, you are so much happier now, and never forget that!!!

It is totally normal to romanticize our previous bodies and other things. I think it just a part of aging process and reflecting that we do as we get older. There's been times Ive looked back and thought "wow I looked great but I didnt feel great" and other times I look back and cringe because I didnt look good but I remember feeling hella confident in that moment. It's helped me be more forgiving to myself when I have bad days with body confidence and has helped me try to be more present in my "here and now" body because who knows what the future holds.

I 100% relate to romanticising your past self, you are definitely not alone! and had struggled with that a bit recently until you kind of realise you are looking at it with rose coloured glasses and those times also had their struggles that are less now just like how this time has its own struggles but ultimately we are just growing and experiencing more things that make us better everyday❤❤ Also you are literally stunning!! And I loveee that play suit on you at the end!! 💗

I think it’s totally normal to romanticize our bodies, I’m definitely guilty of doing that as well especially recently as I’m approaching my 30’s I’m like man I was so smaller back then and wore a size small and I looked so much better back then but also I’m trying to allow myself some grace and be like yeah I’ve gained some weight and maybe I’m not necessarily 100% happy with my body right now but I’m just trying to do things that make me feel good and try to reset into a positive headspace again. My body has been through a lot but it’s also stored amazing memories within it as well. Thanks for being so vulnerable with us, you truly have no idea how great it is to not feel so alone with that. You’re like a long lost friend from all across the other side of the world and I love you 🥹🫶🏻

Omg Sophhiiieee....I do the EXACT SAME! Dwelling on how the past was better and how I looked better, etc. I have videos and photos that I just sit and look back through too and I do think that could be a main reason why! lol It's so hard not to do it tho, sometimes I get so down comparing myself now to then...but also I have to remind myself that I'm growing up and things change. I'm not always gonna look like or be like that same girl I was at 20, 25, 27..etc

The "just listen to it like a podcast" comment had me giggle. Definitely one to romanticise my past body and the way I looked. I get upset at myself because Im like why wasn't I happy when I looked like that. Just reminds me to take the value out of the way I look and just ride the wave of fluctuations in the body as we grow. I am now trying to be more present and kinder to myself in the mirror to try avoid this feeling again in a years time when I'm looking back at the now!!! crazy how hard we can be on ourselves :/

Girl, I have been feeling the same. Feel like I am constantly romanticising my past, even though back then it did not felt as good. It is such a spiral. Hope you feel better about it, and to be honest maybe romanticising past can also lead as a motivation to constantly strive for the better! :)

Im always romanticizing and reminsicing the past. Im almost 26 but im always thinking about how fun it was to be 19-22, Ive achieved a lot since then (job, owning a house) but emotionally i still feel the same as i did 6 years ago. And it just feels like times going by so fast but im not doing anything about reaching my emotional goals. Covid definitely takes a big role in this too though! Like I was thriving socially in 2019 and then covid happened and that all just went away. I totally understand how you feel and I guess its also normal :/ However, I have been watching you for a couple of years and I feel like you’ve grown so much!! I feel like you’re way more your own personality online now than you were maybe like 3 years ago. Also you’re glowing

Thanks for sharing. I feel the same. I have put on 15kgs due to having two pregnancies in the last year into the second trimester that sadly have been lost. It’s hard to give yourself grace and your body when you don’t have the babies in your arms. I look back at my old photos and think how was I not happy with how I looked? However I feel the exact same now. I’m not happy either way because my body ‘size’ isn’t what makes me happy. 💗💗
