I used to work for a high profile dating agency matching people and the first thing we would do is tell ladies to NEVER mention anything negative about their exes or family, NEVER. If you had a non existent or abusive dad, and they ask just keep it brief and positive. OMIT! If your ex cheated or beat you, please do not tell them that. You just say you wanted different things or didn't work out. PERIOD if they push the matter, laugh it off, "Oh talking about exes is so boring to me, lol I like to look toward the future not the past" and change the subject. Even a man who means well and is not a NARC will think less of you and even subconsciously mistreat you if they know that's all you're used to. Also don't overshare to a man who has not invested anything in you. He will think you tell every man you talk to your personal business that quick.

I asked my therapist why am I always attracting narcissistic people and she said because it's familiar. When I tell you my mind was blown. It was blownnnnn. The first narc is my life was my mother and because I still beg and crave her attention to some degree, it is stalling my healing.

Ohhh mannn. THIS. I went to therapy all of last year after dating a narcissist on & off for 2+ years. I had no idea what a narcissist was, I just thought I was crazy bc he Made me felt like I was with all the manipulation & gas lighting (didn’t know what that was either). Then I remember in 1 session, I was telling my therapist “I’ve Never let Anyone…Any Man…talk to me the way that I Allowed him to talk down to me…but I guess I kept on allowing it bc it felt like home to me…bc my Mom would talk to me like that…” Maaaannn…when those words rolled off my tongue…the TEARS just flowed like a river. It all made so much sense when my brain finally was able to process all that trauma and it just hit me. Mind was blown, blownnnn too sis. I wish you well & I hope you continue to heal. A year later after therapy, I can say I’ve learned to let go, forgive, and now I have a much better relationship with my Mom. I pray the same for you. Just know, your feelings are valid and take as much time you need to heal. There is a light at the end of the tunnel 🩷

The best words i can say is love ur mom from a distance, i say that because my mother is a narcissist as well, my life and healing came when i just accepted that my mother doesn't have that love for me or she wouldn't give me that love i desired from her.......Nothing But God can comfort and see u thru that as well. girl… my blood is boiling for this hypothetical situation. one of my close family members dated a narcissist and it is so emotionally draining, mentally draining, and just OVERALL exhausting. it’s so scary when the research matches to a TEA about the person you know. if you had a podcast, i would listen. I am 21 and I feel like I have so much to learn still.. i’m glad the person in that hypothetical situation got out of as soon as she did, because some women FEEL locked down in it for the rest of their life because of the baby they made together. i’m proud of her.

I survived a 6 year relationship with a full blown narcissist, only to learn he was a narcissist (he’s now deceased) AFTER the relationship ended. Everything he put me through made sense after I learned what I know now. Definitely forgive yourself, life is a learning experience.

5 years for me right now and we have a daughter together and one abortion because he wasn't ready at the time.. Right now sitting with our daughter in hospital and he is sitting right here blaming me for her being sick.. And you are right, he's mother has so much to do with how he is. Our daughter cannot stand his mother and in return does not want him in her space either, and he just told me that it's all my fault.. There is so much to this story and I'm honestly emotionally tired

My last ex was a narcissist. Everything was amazing at first, they made me feel so alive and special. That made me feel like we were literally soul mates. Only to find out they were cheating on me, talking to multiple women. When I started distancing myself they did a complete 360 on me. They called me all kinds of horrible names, told me no one would ever love me as much as they did, they tried to tear me down. THAT, is who i was really dating the whole time and had no idea. Looking back, all the signs were there that this person had some internal demons, but I tried to love them through it.. You’re so right, everyone should educate themselves on narcissism and be cautious of men that secretly want to tear you down.

Hey, I’m currently married ( on paper) to a narcissist. He was my bff for years before we became a couple. He’s a covert narcissist. He love bombed, manipulated, discorded, isolated me from everyone, used everything he knew about me against me. He needed validation from the outside world but treated me(wife), his mom, family like shit but treated outsiders so nice. He even manipulates our daughter and plays victim. He has not has an ounce of empathy. I thank God that Ive been delivered from that situation… Counceling really helps when coming from a narcissist relationship

Oweeee I wasn’t ready for that conversation. But I know it’s gonna help so many people. I dated a narcissist for 6 years before I left the relationship and whewwww! It ended a year ago and I’m STILL going through the process of forgiving myself. And ladies, don’t miss that gem about not sharing too much about past relationships. I also encourage any woman in a narcissist situation to document any emotional abuse and report situations of physical abuse to the police as well. It may seem like it doesn’t matter or that nothing can be done but having things documented is the best way to go! Especially if there are children involved, inform the courts and if you fear for your child’s safety request an emergency custody order ASAP and bring your proof!

Your rant reminded of my ex smh; a full blown narcissist. When I realized it though we was already 4 years in and engaged. Luckily I got out before we got married but it had already done a number on my mental, emotional, and physical health. Its so much healing and clarity that comes afterwards though. I can truly say now almost 3 years later I'm in a much better place.

There were so many gems in this Narcissist Ted Talk. I’m so glad that the younger generation are beginning to see these tendencies in people they’re dating. Just know, be careful. Narcissists do NOT like to be called on their mess. They will get very angry. Just move on, if you can. I had a narcissist slip up, while on the phone with me & say (what was meant to be to himself) that he wasn’t good enough for me. The next day, when we spoke again, I asked him why he said that & he pretended it never happened! As time went on, I started calling him on his gaslighting. He would be so short with me. So irritated & impatient. Since I knew exactly what I was dealing with, I just chuckled & said “ok”. Once I started calling him on everything regularly, we stopped talking. For reference, his dad was never in his life & he is close with his mother, but she treats him poorly. Barely even acknowledges his bday. They are damaged & unless & until they want & seek help, there’s nothing YOU can do to fix them. So STOP TRYING!!!

Arnell, the narcissist talk…wow confirmation after confirmation of my past relationship and so glad I got out 🥹 it’s healing to hear that all I was going through wasn’t just in my head and I wasn’t being dramatic or overthinking and it wasn’t my fault. I pray I don’t repeat the cycle. I am a very empathetic person and people like us can get taken advantage of and don’t realize it until it’s too late. I’m only 21, but my father is a heavy narcissist and you described him to a t. especially the part about their mothers being enablers. i hope you know that kids like myself, with narcissistic parents, we peep their behavior from early on. I’m just so glad my mom was able to leave that relationship (even if it took her 12 years) and my sisters and I were able to find our self worth outside of a man who could only offer material things with no emotional support or attachment. It’s difficult dating now bc if i see any resemblance to my father, im outta there. and you’re right, so many men in today’s dating pool have narcissistic tendencies 😭

I went through h*ll and I did end up getting pregnant, but I made the decision to not keep it and everyday I'm happy I made that decision bc I can't imagine being involuntarily tethered to him for the rest of my life.

Been dating a narcissist for 13 years and it wasn’t until recently, being pregnant with our fourth child that I realized what he was. I feel like I’m waking up from a bad dream but I’m still tired. Love this, love your insight. ❤❤

Crying real tears because people who never experienced this truly don’t know how emotionally damaging and traumatic this sort of abuse is. You come out these relationships with heightened anxiety and depression! You don’t even know who you are anymore. I was in it and had no prior knowledge of Narcissism so once I was discarded and discovered research on the topic I was so shocked and broken and scared. BRO THE PERSON YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH AND WAS FIGHTING SO HARD AND GIVING YOUR EVERYTHING TO TO EARN BACK NEVER EVEN EXISTED 😮‍💨🤯 darkest shit I ever experienced. I could talk about this for days. I can in fact, 100% agree to how an narcissist controls you. Ladies, please listen! Once they get control over your mind, it’s the hardest fight of your life to get off of mentally. Then there’s another side of how when they find a new supply just how brutal they can be to you and your child. Be aware. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I love how big Noah is getting and so inquisitive he is. He looks like he will be a quick learner and very smart 😊 Also, can I say the last part of this video was pure facts 💯👏🏾 Sad part of it they’re all around, even in places you would never expect! I’m happy you are able to see the difference and differentiate, what is truly worthy of your attention and time; essentially worthwhile for you! Please train your son, to do the same, because sometimes those traits can be genetics, but, by proper training it can steer your child in the proper direction so that cycle doesn’t continue. You are doing amazing job with Noah, Arnell 😊❤

I’m so glad you’re speaking on this and I hope it can prevent a lot of women from going through the same thing. I have children with not one but 2 narcissists and it’s been hell for 26 years. However, I choose to focus on my kids, my biggest gifts and achievement in life. I wish you and your beautiful son all the best in life ❤️

Thank you for the advice on dating. Somehow you always say what I need to hear and give realistic perspectives on situations without saying “don’t be dumb” like others. We all have dumb moments; it’s how we choose to grow from them afterwards that’s important. Thank you for guiding me over the years from knowing my limits to how to set boundaries. ESP on knowing when to step back. Thank you 🙏🏾

Hey Hun, I'm glad to see a vlog from you. I love that you're thriving & your baby's getting big & is full of joy/laughter. That car ride conversation hit the nail on the head. I'm honestly sure that I've Dodge quite a few narcissists. I will definitely take your advice & read more information on them. I'm the type of person that is loving & open and when I love I love hard. I've also been one that is very trusting & I realize nowadays you can't be that way. Everyone is not deserving of my trust & my loyalty. The things that I have to bring to the table are technically a luxury in this day and age. Someone told me it is because I'm so passionate, loyal & empathetic. Whatever the reason is recently a few narcissists have been attracted to me. A few of them got upset, because I can spot them like a needle in a haystack. Then the Sweet manerism/ love bombing, turns into a very harsh criticism & assault on my character. That alone lets me know for sure, I dodged the bullet. I make sure I stay grounded, pray and stay focused so I will not in the future become their prey. Prayers and love to you on your journey.💐🤗

Whew chileee I had to pause the end of the video and have a little cry😂all of what you said is so true and to a T! It’s so scary when you look back on the situation. I ended my relationship with a narcissist earlier this year and I’m so happy I did. The peace I feel now is amazing and I’m still learning how to forgive and love myself again but it is so worth it. Arnell be spitting facts every single time I need them🤍

Everything that you are saying about being with a narcissist is so on point. It's sad that we need to go through these lessons to learn which leaves some serious scars. Some of us learn quicker than others. You are so right about the lost in lust or sometimes it's lost in what we think is kindness but really is manipulation. Hopefully the ones that need to hear this warning have received the message and existed that relationship ASAP.
