Pretty sure I used to have that Dorothy on blu ray years ago but don't recall ever watching it.. kind of one of those covers that didn't inspire me lol One I think I'll have to grab now when I see it lol Loved the Suspiria remake so you're not on your own matey 😂👍
@XFile2708 hello Marcus Dorothy really surprised me. I was expecting very little. I'm glad there's 2 of us that liked Suspiria 👍 😆 Thanks for watching mate 👍
Hi Roy, will keep a lookout for Day of the outlaw, looks like my cup of tea, I have that Hitchcock boxset, had it for years and have never cracked it open, i have seen most of the films though but mostly on tv
Hi Roy, Interesting watches, Dario Argento movies i do need to be in the right mood to watch his movies, i get why "Suspiria" is a much loved supernatural cult movie classic in its style, but i slightly prefer other Argento movies like "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage" I also have that Alfred Hitchcock set & its a nice one & like yourself i started & been meaning to carry on after watching " Saboteur" it was okay for me & it did have a fine climatic ending. Keep talking movies Sir.
@eastwood4lifefan334 hello Carlos thanks. I do need to watch Crystal Plumage again. I've only seen it once and it's very vague in my memory. There's some great films in that Hitchcock set. Frenzy is one I'd recommend about a serial killer and another "wrong man" type film.
Great video as always Roy. Dorothy definitely sounds like an interesting watch might have to look out for that one. I'm really getting into my older Westerns so Day of the Outlaws sounds like one I should add to my list as well. I recently watched Wait Until Dark, it was one that was sitting in my to watch pile for a long time and I was pleasantly surprised, kept me hooked all the way through. Never seen Suspiria but I'm not sure if it would be my type of film, I'm not sure how different it is from the remake but I really didn't like the look of that one.
@ollielovesfilms6928 cheers Ollie 👍 definitely try and track down Day Of The Outlaw. It's a real edge of the seat Job. As far as I know it's still in print.
Hey Roy; what a great Sunday watches video mate 😀🍿🙌🎸🎶 Much redeemed after the result between our teams yesterday 😂 I can always trust your dear self; Warren & Stuart when it comes to awesome Westerns; I definitely love to check out ‘Day Of The Outlaw’ & ‘High Noon’ in the Eureka label 🤠 I seen ‘Greatful Dead’ a couple of times in the sale; definitely a film I must check out when it’s next reduced; need to see ‘One Cut For The Dead’ aswell! So pleased you enjoyed the 2018 ‘Suspiria’ Roy; maybe it just caught me on the wrong day; hopefully I may return to it one day with fresh eyes and find more appreciation from it; the score from Thom Yorke was the best part of the movie; big Radiohead fan; seen them live in 2017; amazing gig 🤩 I love to see a Top 10 Directors video from you at some point buddy; also ‘Wait Until Dark’ a really great film mate; fantastic chilling Thriller! Close to 500 subs now Roy; keep up the amazing work and you always watch some amazing stuff as ever bud; have a top Bank Holiday buddy; I’m gonna watch some films whilst I’m away 😊🍿🎸🎶
@samglendenning9884 thanks as always Sam 🙏 for the kind words. The toffees will be fine. They're a strong side (they need to to hold up the rest of the table) sorry 😆 It was a fantastic film week and I'd recommend any of this week's watches. One Cut For The Dead is one I'll keep my eye out for too. Have a great rest of the weekend bud 👍
Sounds like a busy film week you have had Roy, some great watches. Always a lot of films I haven't watched, heard of Dorothy and sounds interesting. Don't see it around on sale much though
@timcole418 hi Tim, thanks. It was a good week. I hadn't heard of Dorothy until Larry sent it over for Mrs B to watch. Yep it was really good. Although my ultra low expectation may have raised it a bit.
Jonny Greenwood is the name you’re thinking of, who is a composer and member of Radiohead, Roy. He’s done work for the director, Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood and Phantom Thread).
Some great watches there Roy! I'm so glad you enjoyed Day of the Outlaw as well. Being in the Masters of Cinema collection, I should have known it was going to be great, but I was surprised at how fantastic it was. Some great misdirection I thought, and that sober dancing scene was unbelievably tense! Saboteur is one of my favourite Hitchcock films. I remember catching part of it on TV years ago but had no idea what it was, and when I bought a big Hitchock boxset I was so excited to see which one it was going to be, and I had such a great time with it. I watched it in 2022, and I couldn't believe that Norman Lloyd, had only passed away the year before! A Hitchcock video and a top directors video are great ideas!
@goosesmovies cheers Warren, yes the dancing scene was a standout and like you say nail biting. I need to see more Burl Ives, he was wonderful in it. That statue of liberty scene in Saboteur was incredible too.
In case you haven't seen it, I can highly recommend The Big Country with Gregory Peck, which also has a great performance from Burl Ives, (and some of the wildest eyebrows you've ever seen)!
I love Saboteur, it’s up there as one of my favourite 'wrong man' films that Hitch did and the first time I watched Suspiria i thought 'what the hell did I just watch'? But in a good way😂
Original suspiria is indeed a masterpiece, the 4 k Blu-ray from synapse is mind blowing mate it really is 😍🎥👌🏻, the suspiria remake for me I found ok lead actress didn't do anything from me , Tilda Swinton old man character was sooo boring and annoying, nice watches mate 👍🏻
@stuartgeorge2324 did you know the old man was Tilda when you was watching? I was gobsmacked when I was watching some of the extras after 😆 I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes 😆
@@roybarratt5609 yes I did it didn't look right so I asked my wife and said who's the old man Tilda Swinton she said boom 🤯 I knew something wasn't right the voice the movement, it was ok , but I do love the original suspiria, and the 4 k Blu-ray is mind blowing the colours my god 😍👌🏻🎥
