@@f1nny0 bro i'm so sick of people calling it a riff, it's a lick, riffs repeat but that doesn't repeat in the song edit: thanks Eddie Munson for deleting the comment that im replying to so now i look like an idiot
So true. Early Weezer stuff is so incredibly good at feeling emotionally resonant and down to earth in a heart warming way. Highly recommend listening to their new album if you haven’t, I think it’s a bit of a return to form in the area of relatability.
people finding out that weezer is actually a talented band is the funniest fucking thing to me. like yes their lyrics are a little dorky but they are good at what they do. there’s a reason that they’re still kinda mainstream after 3 decades
This is actually an interesting fact, it proves the studio engineers point that the guitars were tracked at quiet 'conversation' levels for this album but it still made a massive tone
@@Lurk-s you'll only suck if you have that mindset. Every second you'll spend playing, you'll suck less and less, only took me like a few weeks before I could play my favorite songs. Also, chords seem hard at first, but a few hours of practice (not daily, just once) and you should get a pretty good grasp. Maybe I'm just a fast learner tho, so don't be discouraged if you take longer.
Damn, I've been playing that simple pre-chorus lead wrong for 20 year haha. Subtle, but different than I thought. And that solo starts way earlier than I thought as well, probably because Ric punched up the volume on the now-famous part which buried the intro of it a bit in the mix. It almost sounds like some of Rivers' solo sections have like an MXR Blue Box on them. It's a really subtle octave effect, but enough so that I can hear it, like a whole step above his notes. I suppose if he double tracked his solos it could give some interesting harmonic effects like that, but it makes it sing like crazy in the mix. VERY Brian May - which is funny because Rivers totally takes after Freddie Mercury on vocals - not the prowess, but the anunciation, especially of "S" words. On top of all the Quiet Riot and KISS he loved, he clearly loved Queen.
Bots. Go to almost any Talking Heads music video and you'll find dozens of them. Literally programmed to copy and paste multiple comments that already have a bunch of likes, and combine them in one comment. Also worth noting this is Weezer's fanbase we're talking about, so chances are there's people doing it for the meme as well.
